This is gonna require both hands 🙌🏼 What do you HAVE to have in your sandwiches? I’m a mandatory avocado kinda gal 🥑 . Lemon Garlic Tempeh Sandwich 🥪 ↠ Toasted sourdough, hummus, lemon garlic tempeh, avocado, arugula, carrots, sauerkraut, bell peppers, red onion, cabbage 😋 . Lemon Garlic Tempeh Recipe ↠ 3 tbsp lemon juice ↠ 2 tbsp low sodium tamari ↠ 1 tbsp oil (optional) ↠ 2 tsp minced garlic ↠ 1 tsp turmeric ↠ 1 tsp maple syrup ↠ zest from 1 small-medium lemon ↠ Salt + pepper, to taste ↠ 8oz block of tempeh . Place all ingredients in an airtight container and mix well. Chop tempeh into ½ - ¾ inch cubes and add to the marinade. Seal and gently shake to fully coat. Marinate for at least 30 minutes or overnight in the refrigerator, turning a few times. After tempeh is marinated, heat a large pan over medium heat with a bit of oil. Once the pan is hot, add marinated tempeh and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until deep golden✨ . Assemble sandwich, wrap with parchment paper and cut in half.
