Midsummer Ritual

a ritual for the midnight sun, observing the summer solstice, and celebrating the new growing life around you and the growth you have made yourself.

🌿 perform ritual at midnight preferably on a full moon

☀️ make a campfire in a safe area (check the weather broadcast!), or alternatively light a white candle. have a bucket of water nearby just in case.

🌿 leave out an offering (food, drink, flowers) for the local spirits near the fire.

☀️ play music or sing and dance around the fire (naked is good). empty your mind and let there only be music.

🌿 speak a prayer to your ancestors. ask, if you have questions.

☀️ Listen to the sounds of nature in silence.

🌿 put off the fire before leaving the spot.

☀️🔥Litha☀️🔥

Litha is right around the corner, and here are some ways I will be celebrating. It is limited since I am in self-isolation right now after traveling, but we will be making it work! 

WHAT TO WEAR

Reds, oranges, yellows, golds, greens! I will be wearing all my gold jewelry and dressing up in my flowy red floral dress or my bright green dress to celebrate. 

FOOD/DRINK

Grill out! Grilling a steak, delicious summer squash, corn, and sliced peaches for a kale salad. Peaches, lemons, oranges, yellow vegetables are all typical to celebrate Litha. 

Although I do not have any lavender or other herbs, I will be using lots of lemon and honey in all my beverages to celebrate. Thinking of making a honey lemon peach sangria to celebrate! 

ACTIVITIES

Pick wildflowers, make a flower crown, meditate in the sun and soak it up, have an outdoor picnic, take a nature walk, try cloud divination, grill out, make a bonfire, leave sweet offerings for the fae. 

ALTAR

There are a bunch of beautiful tiny white wildflowers blooming around me, and while I would love to get a variety to dress my altar, since I am working with so little it will be primarily decorated with these flowers, dandelions, and the only two candles I could find in the house! Mirrors are great for this as well. 

SPELLS/RITUALS

Write down problems on paper and burn it in the fire - Litha is a fire sabbat!

When taking sips of summer wine/beer/sangria, dedicate the first and last sip to nature and the sun. We are celebrating it all today! 

Midsummer Manifestation Ritual

Make a list of everything you wish to manifest during the next six months.

Be complete – include things related to career, personal issues, and other factors like clarity, confidence, and fun. After sunset, light a candle of your choice. Place a vase of flowers you like next to the candle.
