there would always be accidents . time travel was imperfect and she should have planned better , should have made sure that there was a back up plan or explanation . maybe she could have brought psychic paper ... anything to keep her out of a cage . though , it wasn't the first time ... and she could be fairly certain that it wouldn't be the last time . but something told her she wouldn't exactly be able to charm her way out of this one .

she'd been so sure that she'd stumbled on a very accurate convention of sorts of maybe a larp session . she'd jumped through so many worlds that she'd never stopped to think this one could ever exist . but everything seems to be pointing to her being on the enterprise ... and not some cheap knockoff , the real thing . that she , until ten minutes ago , had been absolutely certain didn't exist . but with an infinite number of worlds out there , who is she to say someone from this universe didn't get trapped in her universe in some kind of timey wimey weird nonsense and created what he'd missed .

there's an arm laying on the ground between them , blood absent and the edge of the wound cauterized , fingers still looped against the trigger of a blaster . it takes a long moment for rose to register exactly what's happened . her own blaster is clasped between both hands , steady and aimed at the ground as if the arm might come to life at any moment and finish its intentions .

it wouldn't be the strangest thing she'd seen .

" couldn't you have set it on stun or something ? there's not even a blood trail to follow . " a frustrated huff as she tucks the blaster back into its holster , head tilting back to try to find where the blast had come from that had , mercifully , saved her own life while regrettably allowing their now armless suspect to stumble into the shadows and disappear .

attention turns to anakin , arms crossing over her chest , expression hopeless . " someone wanted to make sure either i didn't get blasted , or , more likely , our friend didn't talk . but our friend's friend has really shit aim , so i guess it's possible that was meant for me .
