Since the announcement of both the Hello Kitty Tamagotchi Nano & Tamagotchi Uni Sanrio Characters we’ve gotten a lot of questions around both availability and pricing. We reached out to Bandai to get some of these answers.

Retail Availability - Both the Hello Kitty Tamagotchi Nano and Tamagotchi Uni Sanrio Characters will be available on Amazon for preorder today, or latest by Monday. Please understand a lot of this is related to Amazon, not Bandai.

Region Availability - Both the Hello Kitty Tamagotchi Nano and Tamagotchi Uni Sanrio Characters are confirmed for North America and Japan. What about Europe? Our US contact believes it will be, however they are checking with their colleagues. We will provide further information as we receive it.

Pricing - The Hello Kitty Tamagotchi Nano will be priced at $19.99 USD, and the Tamagotchi Uni Sanrio Characters will be priced at $69.99 USD.

Packaging - Japan will get their smaller packaging, countries outside of Japan will have the larger packaging that you’ve come to know and (hopefully) love.

Electronic Days Tamagotchi Connection V2 Bag Review

Jordan from Electronic Days sent us a Tamagotchi Connection V2 Bag to review. There are several different types of styles to choose from on Electronic Days’ Ko-fi shop including Tamagotchi Angel, Tamagotchi Monster, Tamagotchi Connection, and more. We chose a Tamagotchi Connection V2 bag since we are huge fans of the Tamagotchi Connection and we’re manifesting a re-release.

From the moment we opened the packaging it was clear that this bag was made from high quality materials, marine vinyl specifically. Jordan personally creates each and every bag by hand. The graphics on the bag are clear and identical to the Tamagotchi Connection shell that we love. There’s so much love in the details, in the inside of the bag there’s this little glittery clear pouch that closes with a button that features Oyajitchi, how cute is that? We’ve been storing our Tamagotchi there.

These bags come with an adjustable shoulder strap so you can wear them as a traditional bag, or even cross body. These bags are larger than the pouches that are also available for sale, they’re 8 inches in height, 7 inches in length, and 3 inches in width. We’ve been adding some charms and hanging Electronic Days’ Tamagotchi cases from the side hooks where the shoulder straps attach to the bag.

We’re definitely going to be wearing this bag out and about, and it’s going to be such a conversation piece. This is high fashion meets Tamagotchi, and we’re here for it. Who are you wearing? We even received a case for both our Tamagotchi Original & Tamagotchi Uni which is protecting both our Tamagotchi’s when we travel with them, they’re pink and the back is glittery, fabulous! Did we mention that the Tamagotchi Uni case came with adorable charms?

Nikkei MJ’s Tamagotchi in 100 Countries Article Features Members of the Tamagotchi Community!

Nikkei, a popular Japanese publication has just released an article about the popularity of Tamagotchi overseas, and how Tamagotchi is available in 100 countries! This article is featured in the February 26th, 2024 edition of the Nikkei MJ publication.

Nikkei featured a few members of the Tamagotchi community in this article, Julie aka toloveLfromVine, and Tamazingplace! Julie was asked questions about her Tamagotchi collection, and how she first developed an interest in Tamagotchi.

It appears that Nikkei is super interested in the popularity of the Tamagotchi outside of Japan and how others are finding the branding, and their loyalty to the brand. This comes as no surprise, as we saw a similar article calling out the popularity of the Tamagotchi Original in the United States from Nikkei Business Publications back in August, 2023.

They specifically call out that there is a rapidly increasing passionate fanbase, and they are leveraging social media platforms to network and sell Tamagotchi’s.

Tokyo FM’s Tamagotchi Birthday Celebration Special Guest Revealed

To commemorate the 27th birthday of Tamagotchi, Bandai Japan has partnered with TokyoFM to deliver a Tamagotchi music special program that both adults and children can enjoy on November 23rd, 2023! The hosts of the event were already announced, including comment guest and member of the Tama Family, Ano-Chan.

TokyoFM has just announced that there will be an additional special guest! The additional special guest will be Kaji Yuki, a Japanese voice actor and singer.

In addition, Bandai Japan has announced that there will be an exclusive Tamagotchi Uni 16-digit download code distributed during the event. The download code is for the TFM radio cassette that can be used by your Tamagotchi! Not entirely sure if this will be an accessory or item yet.

You'll also have the chance to win prizes, including the new blue Tamagotchi Uni!

Throwback 🩷

So I was walking around Astor Place in Manhattan, when I came upon a small video game store. I walked inside to find a huge array of Japanese games. When I was about to leave, I turned to find a Devilgotch in the glass case. I was so excited that my breath caught in my throat and I asked the man at the counter how much he was charging for the elusive tamagotchi. He looked puzzled as to why I wanted it and responded, “$99.00.”

I got a near-mint condition Devilgotch for less than $100. I feel like the luckiest person in the world.

Tamagotchi Uni Featured in October 2023 Issue of Ciao Magazine

Tamagotchi Uni will be featured in the October 2023 issue of Ciao magazine! Ciao magazine is a manga magazine published by Shogakukan in Japan with a target audience of girls who are between age 8-14.

Bandai and Ciao have been partnering for quite some time, so it’s not strange to see the feature in the October 2023 issue. The Tamagotchi Uni was also featured in the August 2023 issue!

Kinokuniya New York in Bryant Park is Selling Tamagotchi Original & TKJ Pouch

Kinokuniya Books, also known as Kinokuniya USA offers a wide variety of books, magazines, and stationary from Japan. Including an extensive collection of manga, graphic novels, art and design books, cookbooks, travel books, children’s books, and more, both in English and Japanese.

There are several retail locations throughout the United States. toloveLwithVine on Twitter was listing their Bryant Park New York City location and found a Tamagotchi section! The Tamagotchi section features some Tamagotchi Original shells, and even that new Tamagotchi Original pouch from TKJ that was released the summer, how awesome is that?

Bandai Japan Sends Tama Family Ano Flowers for First Tour

Once you’re in the Tama Family, you’re in for life! Bandai Japan’s newest member of the Tama Family recently appointed back at the 2023 Tokyo Toy Show, Ano is on tour and received a surprise from Bandai Japan! Ano Shimizu is on tour, the tour is titled “Ano Live” which is Ano’s first tour. At Ano’s second show performed in KT Zepp Yokohama in Japan, Bandai Japan sent flowers backstage to Ano to wish her luck for her performance.

The flowers are gorgeous and feature cutouts of the Tamagotchi Uni in both shell colors, Mametchi, Kuchipatchi, and Picochutchi. The card congratulates her and wishes her luck on her first tour, and is signed from the whole Tamagotchi team at Bandai.

How cute is that? Bandai Japan takes the Tama Family very seriously! Glad to see their support for the newest member of the Tama Family.
