Six months postpartum, my girlfriend's body is slowly recovering from the pregnancy. She's not happy with how she looks, and I know that "horny" is not the kind of reassurance she's asking for when she complains about it, but she can't just go "hey are you aware of how my body is shaped" and not expect to have my undivided attention.

My girlfriend thought that everyone sneezes at bright sunlight because everyone in her family does, but what the fuck? There's people who don't have that?

My hunger cues are back, properly. I wake up hungry some mornings, and can't sleep if I didn't eat before going to bed. Actually physically feeling hunger feels strangely like that thing when you're standing in a high place and suddenly get the urge to jump. The call of the void. I know it doesn't mean anything, and I know that I don't really want to jump. It is a meaningless impulse that I can, and will, safely ignore.

Dealing with a very broody hen

Fried Rice doesn’t seem like she’ll break easily

She’s very determined to hatch nonexistent eggs

Also non of my chickens cluck

So I was very confused when Fried Rice started clucking

I actually though she was tid bitting at first

But clucking when outside the nest is a broody hen thing

And she is definitely broody

Going to shut off her access to the nest tomorrow

Chicken problems are so different from any other animal problems. I'm fascinated that this is just a normal thing to you, a bird is trying really hard to hatch something that is not an egg, and you have to try your hardest to keep her from doing that.

happy birthday feral! i know i don't say it much, but i really do care about you (and stinkbug, and your snorkmaiden gf) so so so much. like i see things and i think 'oh, feral would like that.' whenever i see your posts my day is a little bit better. the other day i had a nightmare that you had died and woke up panicking. i don't know, this is rambly and incoherent but i just really want you to know how much i love you. i want you to have so many good things, it's a physical need. anyways happy birthday, give the baby a hug from me, etc. etc.

I think everyone has some things they suspect that nobody actually likes, people just claim to enjoy that stuff as some sort of a weird flex for clout. For me, it's all the fucking outdoorsy hobbies.

I may have similar hobbies but I am not a socially acceptable invasive animal with knife hands and fangs that are bacteria central

You need permits to own possibly invasive species but there’s no law against outdoor cats

Even if you don’t care about the wildlife it’s not even safe for the damn cat

Yeah I don't agree with people keeping outdoor cats either. But you are very socially acceptable, if that's any comfort for you. And your hands are still good for holding a knife, which may be more useful for taking apart and putting together dead animals.
