A very long She-ra hair analyzation
some of this might not make sense, but here's another post about the symbolism of hair in She-ra.
adora:
let's start with the main character. ever since she was a kid she had that stupid hair poof. It symbolizes two things. the control adora needs in her life, and how other people control her. her ponytail is how she needs to control everything. the plans when they raid the horde, the plans to save etheria, anything like that, because she needs to know that people will be safe. She's good at improvising, but if she can plan everything out, to the last little detail, maybe no one will get hurt (this plays into her hero complex). Her poof thing is everyone who controls her and it is everything she can’t control. the first ones, for example. they didn’t give her a choice on being she ra, that’s just what they planned for her. Shadow weaver forced her into responsibility of others, even as a child. Every time a hair comes out of her poof, It is either her making a choice against what her abusers want, or hers getting hurt by her abusers actions. When her hair is down, that’s her letting someone else take control, and not making choices for the world, but for herself. Her hair comes down a lot in season 5, as this is the season when she realizes she's more than what her abusers tell her she is. She's being selfish, and choosing not for the best of the world, but the best for her. (which is exactly what needs to do). In the future scene, she has her hair down. she’s stop controlling everything. she’s relaxed. but she still has a stupid hair puff! i think that’s just her accepting the fact she’s she ra, and she won’t stop being she ra for a while. but she ra is a part of her, isn’t some kind of awesome lady better than her in anyway.
catra:
in season one, her hair looks untamable. In this season, she just wanted to be free, away from Shadow Weaver, away from the horde. She wanted to travel the world (and be with Adora). Wild, untouchable. she did what she wanted like how her hair does what it wants. Yet, her grey hair tufts tell a different story. Shadow Weaver uses these tufts to manipulate Catra. The tufts represent how she isn't free, how she is stuck, how she still has a awhile before she is truly free, but there is still room for her to grow (like the tufts behind her ears). in the next seasons, when she’s losing control of herself, she smooths her hair down, as if she's given up her dream of being wild, of doing what she wants. The tufts are gone because she believes this is who she's meant to be. She believes she's meant to be the leader of the horde, someone calculating and perfect. (because obviously she not perfect if she did something wrong to drive Adora away. obviously her dreams of traveling the world, her dreams of being free, weren't good enough for Adora. So maybe if she changes, maybe if she gives up her dreams for power, people will see she's worth it. that she's perfect, and then maybe they wont leave her.) So she changes her hair and slicks it down, so its perfect. She gets rid of the tufts so there's no kind of rebelliousness and wildness in her (and so no one can manipulate her). And anytime she's losing it, her hair gets a little messed up which happens a lot to normal people, but lets face it, this is Catra. her hair getting messed up is her façade fading away, her act of being ok breaking. Its almost the direct opposite of Azula's arc. In the beginning Azula has to seem perfect, and her hair does too. that's just an act to cover the rising mental breakdown. then her hair gets crazy, as she's going crazy. And there is one similarity. When both of them are having their breakdowns, they get rid of something that represents them as they cry. Catra’s headpiece and Azula's bangs. Then horde prime comes. He cuts her hair. Of course that represents her being under his control. but every time it’s out of place, that’s her fighting back. it’s her realizing Adora came back for her, that she has something to live and fight for, even if it might leave later. When she’s finally away with the chip out, she cuts it even shorter. with this hair she can’t smooth it down and pretend to be fine, its still a little crazy like her. It represents how she will heal and grow, and be herself again, (not one that longs for freedom, but has freedom). then, in the future scene we see with Adora, her hair has grown back which is her finding peace and being healed. It is up in a ponytail, which is her taking back control of her life. It has the crazy edges her hair had before, which I think, is representing an organized crazy. It is 100% her.

She-ra Hair analyzation
ok, so we’ve seen She-ra with long hair and we’ve seen She-ra with a ponytail. Now, She-ra having a ponytail could be Adora taking control, Adora making She- ra her own. and with the sword breaking, that’s the first ones losing their control on her and her fate. But Mara’s She-ra? had long flowing hair, yet in her civilian form, she had it up. so either Mara wanted She-ra to have her hair down, or that’s symbolic to the first ones having control over her. maybe it’s supposed to represent how she was trapped by the first ones, how she couldn’t escape what they had planned for her, and she had to die because of that. Mara couldn’t be free of the first ones control, she had to be what they thought She-ra had to be. but with Adora, she made She-ra her own. she made She-ra her.

legend by 21 pilots is one of those songs that has an upbeat melody by sad chorus, I think. “you were one of those classic ones” I think the song is about amnesia. “ I wish she knew you” the singer has a close family member/friend that loses their memories, and the song is about trying to get them to remember. and parts of the song where its like “you were here when I wrote this” is about how the person they're singing about was there mentally. they were writing a song about the person, but an accident happened and they forgot everything.

Hidden in the sand is such wonderful song. its about how life is unexpected. I like to think that the song is about a guy trying to propose on a beach, but before he can the person he’s proposing to finds something in the sand. (like a jewel or something) then its time for the person who found the jewel to leave for work so the guy asks to hold on to the item for them so he “fall in love with it too.” but the person says to buy their own and leaves. the guy whispers “all I wanted was you” as the person walks away. or maybe its darker?
maybe “playing in the sand” is a metaphor for a car? they were driving around and got in a crash. maybe the person finding a little band got badly injured and is in a coma. eventually the person wakes up, but doesn't have a lot of time left. so they bid adieu and tells the other person that was in the car with them that they love them. so then the person goes through some dark thoughts (wanting to hold the “little band” and fall in love with it too) instead the person dying from the crash tells them to get a pet (”buy a pony”) and then dies. its then revealed that the person still alive loved them too.
idk I just think its beautiful because it talks about the uncertainty of life (”hadn't gone as I planned”) and it talks about falling out of love with a person (”never love anew”) and how they just wanted to spend their life with someone but it doesn't work out (”all I wanted was you”)

I absolutely hate everything and I'm about to cry because I have so many assignments and they would all be so much easier if we were in school and not doing assignments is killing me but I just don't have the attention span or ability to sit down and actually do stuff and I'm not even learning anything and I'm supposed to do all honors classes and I'm silently panicking because nothing is getting down but I'm also procrastinating so much I cant even care anymore so one part is dying cuz school isn't even helping me learn but one part just wants to ignore it and I know my grades cant go down if I don't do the work but theyre gonna go up if I do it but I just cant and I really hate everything
