thinking about the directors cut and what if they have the balloon scene recorded somewhere fr? i always thought it was a foreshadow that they introduced the nutria guy as the owner of the agency and him giving vincenzo a ticket. could be bc the directors were still deciding what to do on that week break but i felt like the balloon would be TOO light for the whole context of the drama 😭

putting a little list of cdramas that should air this year and i literally can't contain myself on my boots to watch:

One Life One Reincarnation (Beautiful Bones) - with Ren Jialun and Bai Lu. One thing about me is loving soulmate/reincarnations stories goddamn it, this one even has Bai Lu so you know it can't be bad. Basically, follows the tragic story of soulmates that centuries ago couldn't be together, in the present life she holds memories from her lover from the past and wishes to reunite with him once again, however he doesn't looks the same neither has memories of her. I'm still reading the novel and bawling my eyes out but i can't wait to see it in a drama.

To Be a Brave One - with Darren Chen and Deng Jia. The trailer and plot had me SOLD, (love that chinese dramas are investing more on female leads on higher positions instead of her being poor 99% of the time) . This story is about a young and capable female ceo who suddenly gets into a car accident and stays in a comma for 2 years, when she wakes up her life is in shambles and her "lover" betrayed her. She then meets a young man who agrees with her business ideas and development plans. Hence, they decide to work together and start a business. They also develop feelings for each other over time.

Why Women Love - with Wang Ziyi and Jin Chen. I love the actress, she mostly plays strong roles. He is full of talents but has no intention of inheriting the rich family business but still followed his mother's arrangement for him to become her assistant. The two slowly come together to realize their feelings and dreams.

Love Under the Full Moon - with Ju Jingyi and Zheng Yechen. Another one i'm watching for the female lead, i love ju jingyi as an idol and even tho historicals, roles she plays the most, aren't my cup of tea i saw the recent trailer and some filming vids and kinda liked it. On this story, because of a "super moon", the female lead who lives in the modern world, loses her memory and time-travels to the world inside Xu Xiaodong's phone, thus beginning a mystical journey. It's a fantasy plot but it's a short drama so i hope the plot is well put together.

Thoughts about some of my favorite romcom male leads. PART 2.

Disclaimer: this is pure shitpost and me having a lot of time on my hands plus being bored since no one of the dramas in my lists are convincing enough for me to watch rn (and it WILL contain spoilers about some dramas)

Hello, continuing my thoughts about some of my favorite romcom drama male leads. I'm thinking of doing a female version but i literally love every female lead on romcoms unless they are some poorly written airheads.

Today's pick is Ma Yuanshuai from Love is Sweet (2020) played by Luo Yunxi (i forgot to put a Hyungisk gif yesterday so here's two of my fave gifs from him as Yuanshuai):

I still remember when i first read the description for this drama and got quite confused w the plot cause it's like friends to lovers a with a bit of enemies to lovers trope, i love bai lu so much she's one of my fave cdrama actresses but i had never seen any luo yunxi dramas, some friends who also watch dramas said it was his first modern role and let me tell you this casting was ABSOLUTE PURE PERFECTION. The chemistry was there from the very first episode and only got stronger to the point i had to pause the eps sometimes cause that was TEW much even for me who's used to brazilian hot ass soap operas.

Now onto why he's one of my fave characters from romcoms: ( will be doing it recalling scenes like the other post caus it's easier)

When he met Jiang Jun again when she applied for the job at his company that MF was on cloud nine. He was doing everything to stop her from entering the company bc he believed her condition made it hard for her to work on such a competitive place but he was so happy to meet her again after 10 years.

The scene she casually asks him if he has ever liked someone and he says he does but doesn't dare to tell her bc he don't want to lose her. MY GAWD that was a confession in the open he was literally looking at her w sparkly hopeful eyes, so fucking romantic.

THE FUCKING BOOK SCENE. i cry everytime i rewatch it cause the goodamn sensual tension was grabbing and throwing me around my room.

Yuanshuai NEVER denying when someone would call them a couple (the doctor, the taxi driver and so on) plus his username on the "dating app" being zeus and jiang jun being juno. THAT WAS SO FUCKING SLICK.

eps 15 to 20 might be my own personal heaven. everything i ask for in romcoms. i love love love love when they are at the stage of knowing they both like each other and it's ALMOST time that they confess so they are stuck in the awkward phase of tension, that brings me so much joy.

the aquarium scene after they got a perfect match on the dating app. AT THAT POINT BOTH OF THEM KNEW THEY WERE IN LOVE W EACH OTHER and yuan shuai on that whole ep was so wholesome. from him being jealous of du lei, to him comforting jiang jun and finally them looking at each other like they were owns personal world.

THE WHOLE CONFESSION SCENE. it tecnically wasnt a confession bc she read the letter alone but still. them under the snow and the pretty lights was so lovely plus they fucking had a jane austen hand brushing moment right after at the elevator scene. that was one of the moments i had to pause the drama, walk around my house get a cup of water cause i was honestly about to collapse.

There were many other scenes since this drama is longer like most of cdramas are but in general yuan shuai is so much like ahn minhyuk to me. they both are extremely adorable and in truly madly deeply in love while also being hot rich and smart. it doesn't really gets better than that for me.

Decided to write this after my tiktok fyp basically harassing me w thoughts of my favorite characters in the genre. Might do more posts as i remember other dramas (should've made a list from the start, now i only remember if i watched a drama or not if i see some eps lmao).

Let's start w my supreme king: Ahn Minhyuk from Strong Woman Do Bong Soon played by another king himself Park Hyungsik.

Now i have seen a lot of mixed opinions from this drama, some people love it, some think it's absurd and i have to say even tho he's my favorite romcom male lead there's sumn things i really didn't like about the writing of the drama while watching it, so i shall start with that before of going on how much i love minhyuk: first the whole "let's keep her believing he's gay so he looks more trustworthy" i HATE the directors going on this path cause they showed it themselves all they had to do for bong soon to accept the job was the paycheck, also the only actual (confirmed cause i had serious doubts about his secretary) gay character being extremely annoying, yes, annoying cause i know his parts were supposed to be the comedy and it was most of it but u see the portrayal of non heterosexual characters is always quirky or mean spiritted on kdramas and that pisses me off.

Now onto why i love him so much: RESPECTFUL. He was madly in love w her even before he knew she was the girl from the bus from years ago (another kdrama cliché these mfs always know each other from their childhoods), but even tho they had kind of bickering relationship he never forced/manipulated his feelings upon her, even tho he knew she had feelings for that ogre of a second lead. He waited for her until she was ready to give back the feelings, HE LITERALLY GAVE HER A JOB AND KEPT PROMOTING HER JUST SO THEY COULD SPEND TIME TOGETHER WTF.

To not make this a gigantic post i'll be resuming some of my favorite scenes from him in the drama:

"I'll make you a real life Xena", when he learned about her powers he didn't get freaked out at all????? my man was down bad for her he decided to train her so she could make the best use of her strenght.

"Let's do this without anyone knowing, just the two of us" One of the most heart fluttering scenes in the drama, he plays off by saying he meant "training" when he knows damn well if she whistles he will dance to the sound she makes.

"To become lovers from friends is simple. One person has to take a step closer. And that one step changes their relationship." I CRY AND I CRY. His emotions pouring out his eyes and actions like that was his first confession, only an airhead wouldn't catch that, he was so fucking adorable.

"I care a lot about her, you can trust my word on that". He went to visit her dad's shop and her father told him to take care of her (like she needed but you get it). Her father being the first one to actually realize what was going on and secretly cheering for them, very cute to me, very pleasing.

"Can you please like me?". Pleek, he wouldn't need to ask me twice. This was after his confession when she asked some time to sort out her feelings (as if) and then minhyuk shows up after gook du stood up on her again (he had a good reason but i don't like him so whatever) and the following scene when she sees stars anda cute ass song plays in the bgm EXACTLY how i would be feeling towards minhyuk.

The kiss scene is quite obvious, i loved that corny cheesy cliché shit so much you wouldnt believe.

"Please look at me, please love me. You're peanut sized so i can carry you around in my heart but i don't think i'm in yours". THIS SCENE. Absolutely my fave from the whole drama. She had lost her powers and he was upset bc she didn't tell him what she was up to. He sounded SO fragile and worried but above all he was so honest. My sister shouldve said: THERES NO WAY ANYONE WOULDNT BE IN LOVE W YOU MY KING. Hyungsik was handcrafted for that role and specially for this scene. HIS EYES my god i cried a whole river.

Lastly, also one of my fave scenes: when she was trapped w the b*mb and tells him to leave and save himself and he says "i'm not leaving you don't be scared". MANS LITERALLY WILLING TO DIE BY HER SIDE. there's nothing left for me to say he was so in love and so cute and perfect and adorable also the reason i can't find anyone interesting cause no one is ahn minhyuk.
