This is my customer synopsis I'm really happy with how it turned out i think it really portrays my theme and the vibe that I'm going for. if i were to do it again i would want to change the layout of my mood board as I'm not really happy with it, I like it but i know i could make it better.

Press release

initial layouts 

here is my final press release along with some different layout, i like the 2nd one for its simplicity but overall i think the one that i have chosen was the best one, as it shows my theme a lot more and is a lot clearer. im happy with how it has turned out as i think it feels a lot more professional than my normal ones, i feel like i have improved a lot when it comes to my press releases. i chose the space background as it is like you are going back in time to see/read the press release.

Here are my final design boards i have made them by using the mood boards i created fore each historical figure at the start of the unit as i didn't want them to go to waste, i then placed some tracing paper over them to dull them a little bit so it doesn't overpower my actual designs and i think they look really effective and very professional, the top pictures are of my 2nd attempt at them where i just photocopied the boards with the tracing paper so it removes the square of glue/tape which instantly looks a lot better than the ones below it.

This is my final design for Abraham Lincoln, for this design i was of course inspired by the colours on the American flag as he was 16th president of the united states, Marlene Dietrich (a actress from the 1920s) was a big source of inspiration as you can see from the phot of her below. i decided on such angular and sharp cut garment because of the fact that it looks very uniformed and smart, which is how I see Abraham Lincoln. the blue dress is based loosely on what women in that time were wearing, i then added half of his normal jacket to the design to tie it all back to him.

This is my design for Sigmund Freud i was inspired by many newspaper clippings that talk about him, one title really stood out to me and that said...

the words really struck me with inspiration hence why his design is so see through as i really wanted to show his profession, of psychoanalysis. i also was inspired by his trench coat and tie hence why they are incorporated into the design. the belt and cuffs that are on the design are inspired by his pocket watch that he used to wear.

BEHIND THE SCENES

Here are some of the behind the scenes shots taken by my mum, so you can see how some of the pictures were taken. i like these pictures as it shows the weird sort of positions you get in to get the perfect shot, and i enjoy directing my own photoshoot and watching it come from something 2d to 3d.

this is another slow-motion video i have taken to really make it feel like she is looking out into the present day and seeing how things have changed, or another version would be that she is preparing herself to go into battle. either I really like how this video has turned out, I would have liked to get more of a panning shot but it still looks really good.

Here is a small collection of some of the photoshoot pictures that i have taken, I'm really with how this selection of photos came out as i think they capture the calmer side to battles, especially the sunset photo which I do really like though on the day I was unhappy as normally I get really nice sunsets but of course on the day I wanted to do my photo shoot the sky is cloudy, though i still think it looks very effective.

You might have noticed that in these images my model changes her shoes from heels to trainers, originally this was done because my model had an injury in her leg which made her not be able to wear heels for long periods of time so when we would finish a shoot shed swap back to her trainers, and i began directing her on what poses i wanted before seeing her shoes and thinking that the trainers really add a lot more to the garment than the heels did as, while this was happening i remembered that in the film the main characters history assignment is all about what these historical figures would think of modern day society, and in the film Joan of arc really takes a liking to aerobics, and so her wearing trainers makes a lot more sense than if she wore heels, and i think it visually looks more appealing.

These were the first pictures i took at the start of the photoshoot, i really like how they came out, and I'm very grateful that the weather was nice. for this collection of photos i wanted them to be almost as if my model is talking to god and receiving God's message, i think these photos are some of the best from the photoshoot as they really capture the garment and the model perfectly. one thing i wish i wish could change would be the shoes i wish that these photos had the trainers on too as you will have read the post after this one on the significance of her wearing the trainers instead of the heels. but other than that i really like these photos.

here we have my photoshoot mood board, which helped me understand how i wanted my photoshoot to go as you can see i have the hair make-up, location and poses all on to give a rough idea of what i want to gain from this. i chose sandal castle as one of my locations as it is quite close by and because it is on a hill its a lot easier to hide houses and other buildings i might not want to see in my photos.

The first two photos show me adjusting my garment as in the original design it is a full-body suit that stops just below the knees on the day she struggled to have good mobility whilst wearing it and when she added the skirt it just looked too costumey and cheap which is not what i wanted so i decided to see what it would look like if we removed the legs and once i did the garment fitted her a lot better and she had a lot more movement, and it also made the whole outfit ten times better as it looked more refined and designer rather than a cheap looking costume.

These two videos are of me going through the process of painting my garment, to do this I just used some acrylic paint, overall I'm really happy with how it looks, I think the top looks a lot better than the skirt, and i think I might have rushed it a little but it still looks very effective.

underneath is a photo of the breastplate that I also painted with acrylic paint, I think it came out really well, I know it's not the best paint to use in the long run but for what i need it for its ok.

this is a picture of some of my sketchbook pages showing my inspiration for all my designs and, a place where i can put all of my media experimentation allong with my face experimentations. im really happy with how these pages have turned out as i think that the layout is really intriguing and eye-catching and it explains really well where I have gotten lots of my inspiration from for my designs.

Here is my design for billy the kid, i was inspired by the iconic looks of cowboys, as it is meant to be obvious on who of the designs are i think that i played it a little too safe with this design but i still think its very effective, whilst colouring this i envisioned brown leather/ cotton was going to be what i  would use but when ii did it it just looked really plain and boring so i decided to experiment with a different colour so i made it red instead, which for me made it go from a ‘realistic cowboy outfit’ to something that could be seen on the runway and it also worked well because this design in particular was more about highlighting one of the things he is most famous for which is how many people he supposedly killed so i think the red also symbolizes the blood on his hands, i also wanted it to be more about the small little things so if you count the small dotted groups on her sleeve you should count 21 of the groups this is to represent the age that he died and also the supposed number of people that he killed as he once stated...

“one for every year of my life”

you will also see that on the chain around his waist there is a gun and a single bullet, i decided to add these as they are some of the bullets that were used at that time and the gun is that same one that shot and killed him. overall im really happy with this design and i think it captures him really well.

with the hair i was heavily inspired by this hairstyle

i liked this as it reminded me of the hairstyles you would see during that time and i think it really helps personify my design and makes it all coherent with each other.
