it's been a while, but I'm still thinking about these two too frequently, I'm sad to say that I probably won't be posting more for some time and will be stopping the band AU drawings, I absolutely love drawing them and never felt so much joy when I saw that some people liked them too. I've been going through a lot these past 4 months and I'm at a point where I feel like I lost all my motivation to draw (had to squeeze this last one out with all my nonexistent will) hopefully this time will pass but until then, have some dumb punk kids (that love to make bad decisions and look hot while doing it) for the last time :]

You know, if there absolutely had to be an open world Dragon Age game, it should have been DA2.

The biggest problem with open world, for me, is the way it completely strips away any sense of urgency. Corypheus is coming, we have to save the Empress, we have to save the Grey Wardens, very important, but any tension is lost simply because we can ignore all that for as long as we want and spend days or months dicking around in the Hinterlands picking elfroot. For DAI, a more linear narrative would have been much more appropriate. But imagine an open world DA2! Getting to really explore Kirkwall and the Wounded Coast, especially with the day-and-night mechanic, and find all the weird little things hidden in the corners. Each neighborhood could be an area, with its own storyline. There would be lots of big and small crises for Hawke to deal with. Their (willing or not) rise to political power could be shown and not told. Companion relationships could be more fleshed out, especially if there were Andromeda-style friend dates.

I’m not usually a fan of open world games, but I really like this idea.
