PSA: Before you rage about rainbow capitalism this Pride month, please be gentle. Remember that some of us would have killed to have what we have now at thirteen. Even just a rainbow flag would've made thirteen year old me feel so seen, if I'd seen what I see now? I would have cried my heart out.

So when you see someone standing in the middle of all the 'rainbow capitalism' with tears in their eyes, think about how they felt when they couldn't even be honest about who they are. Now there are rainbows everywhere. Now there are more then just rainbows and people are feeling seen.

When you see the person at their first pride dressed in all rainbows, be kind. Cringey or not, they're celebrating getting to be who they are. They're proudly showcasing their colors and 15 years ago? That wasn't something even nearly as socially acceptable as it is now.

Love one another, support eachother, and remember, the first pride? Was a riot.

Remember your comfort character believes in you and so do I. The random girl on Tumblr who tries her hardest to spread love, comfort, and acceptance. Who stood in Target and cried because she felt seen. I see you sweet one, I adore you, I am so proud of you.
