Are you guys no longer active? I came back on tumblr after what feels like years and remembered how much I loved your posts! I remember y'all were still in school and I had just started college back then aspiring to get my Psy.D. Crazy to see how far and settled in you are into your careers! Care to give a quick rundown of what I missed in your professional lives? Whatever y'all are comfortable sharing ofc
Hey Anon,
Thanks for this question, it’s actually perfect timing. We have been meaning to catch everyone up on how we’ve been and what kept us away from posting as much as we have in the past. To make a long story short, we’ve been working our asses off.
If we were still doc students the last time you checked up on us, you have missed a lot. Since doctor school we’ve both done all these things:
-gotten married
-published research
-started jobs as clinicians and counselor educators, hated those positions and took others before our souls crumbled.
-published more research
-published a book
-we’ve both became dads
-we settled in at a different university and clinic, respectively, that fits our personal and professional lives perfectly.
-one of us became a dad again
-we’ve started private practices
-we published 2 more books
-we’ve written a proposal for another book - which recently got accepted
-we’ve recently accepted a request to publish an article in an international journal on Gestalt Group Therapy
-we’ve both been doing a ridiculous amount of Zoom guest lectures in an array of counseling courses all over the country.
We are sure we are missing some bits here and there... but that about covers it.
