Why do you think people hate lawyers?

It's not like I really want to but abandoning them won't do any good either.

I guess it still depends on the situation though, it's impossible to predict the outcome only by what-ifs. If they're that much of an asshole there's still a chance that I'll abandon ship and threw away what my mentor told me.

That's pretty much the same thing.

I don't really want to deal with what-ifs but..just in the case that it happens, it's still a defense attorney's duty to stick with their client until the very end.

It's the responsibility that I received when I accepted someone as my client.
