FRONTLINER IN THE MAKING

         I am Trisha May C. Salazar, 18 years of age. I live and was raised in Pandi, Bulacan by my loving and supportive parents Mr. Rhoderick Salazar and Mrs. Ma. Irene Salazar . They also serves as my inspiration to achieve all my goals in life and one of it is to become a Registered Nurse someday. I am currently studying at Bulacan State University taking Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Being a student nurse is not that easy, I am facing struggles and difficulties but despite of all the challenges that I encounter, my family’s act of motivation makes me pass all of the struggles that come in my way of achieving my goal. I see myself serving our country in the future and doing my best to provide quality holistic care to every patients.

How the present pandemic shapes your passion, including your realization and oath to yourself , as a future nurse?

COVID-19 PANDEMIC

        The covid-19 pandemic brought many fears and worries to our health condition, it is basically a threat to humanity because in a short span of time I observed that the rate of the people who are infected are unbelievably high. I am aware on what is happening in our country and other territories around the world where our lives are at risk because of the harmful effects of the coronavirus. One of the affected persons is our frontliner. They are risking their lives to save and treat the infected ones without any fear even if  they may also get infected by the virus. The saddest part about being infected of the virus is that if you tested positive, you have to fight it by your own without your family at your side because having them near you is a big risk of getting infected as well. So you have to be brave enough to fight the virus. I see and appreciate every frontliners doing their best to provide holistic care to the patients who needed medication eventhough there is a lack of personal protective equipment and even financial support in other health care facility. But despite of many struggles they are still dedicated to continue their oath to cure and to serve people in times of health crisis.

        Becoming a future nurse makes me feel proud that I foresee myself doing all I can to help in this kind of situation. I may sacrifice my life for my chosen field and for the citizen of our country. I, without hesitation, will pursue this field and will do my best  to help cure and saves people’s life. Frontliners are the modern hero of our society and this inspired me to strive harder in pursuing my chosen career despite of many challenges and troubles that I may encounter. In fact I am more dedicated to know and study how to handle such dangerous condition like this corona virus pandemic. I promise that I will help every individual in our society to promote safety measures in order for them to avoid spreading the disease and virus that our country may encounter in the future. All the frontliners will serve as my inspiration for me to be responsible enough to perform my duties as a nurse someday. All their sacrifices and hard works  will also serves as my motivation to be like them who did their best to serve our country. Having positive mindset is a good start to achieve all of the things we wanted. Being optimistic in every health crisis is a must. Also I will give hope to every patients that I may handle for them to be strong enough and be motivated to fight against the sickness. I will use all my knowledge, skills, and nursing values that I learned in my Alma Mater in the future to properly assess patient who seeks medical care and provide them with quality holistic  care in order for them to recover. Eventhough my life is at risk I will continue to do everything to help my fellow countrymen who needs medical care. I will not give up doing all I can to help them even if  the lack of hospital equipment gets on my way. In a simple way like providing and having a demonstration and discussion to every individual in a community about the proper things to do to avoid having some kind of viruses or diseases. Educating them in this simple thing is a big help not only for them but also the for people who surrounds them.

         This pandemic taught us that we could heal one by doing our part . We can make difference and lessen the infected number of this virus. All we have to do is follow the government guidelines and always stay at home. This matter will help our country to have a fresh start and be more peaceful. We should always have faith in God because he is our creator and our savior. Lastly, with the help of our Lord , I’m Trisha May Salazar your “frontliner in the making”.
