There was no trading with teethers.  While it had taken Gilbars himself a long, long time to grow to the big boy age of... around six, these new spirits must be eating well, since they seem to grow much quicker!  So, after giving this mysterious new friend a few decades to grow, Gilbars decided to finally make the two-week journey to their lands. Aware that this new representative was not anything like the Roman Empire, he didn’t overburden his horses with amber, honey, and furs. He and his human companions only brought a small sampling of his wares, but he was still confident that he would be able to get some good goods in return. He had slept a good amount of the way there, coming alive at night to keep an eye out for bandits. Thus, it was no surprise that he was woken up once they had arrived at Kyiv. He wormed his way out of his layers of blankets, face scrunching up as the bright afternoon sun assaulted his eyes. He cried out a greeting in Slavic, hoping that the dialect here hasn’t changed too much from the Slavic at the Aesti’s borders. He stumbled his way to the front of the wagon and, when he was finally able to see, he saw a blonde girl in front of his horses.  “Hi! Can you understand me? this is just a PSA for my mutuals that when i say you can send me memes i mean it.  if you’re in a place where you don’t have time or energy to write you can still send me memes.  i don’t inherently expect you to reply to them or for you to write a bunch of memes back.  it’s not you ‘putting all the work on me.’  i legitimately am happy to get to write those interactions.  i know how nice it can be to have things to read when you’re just not able to do much writing yourself.
