In which Rick Coupland, a business professor at St. Lawrence College’s campus in Kingston, Ontario, posts something so atrocious and homophobic on Facebook that we wonder how he got his job at all.
Coupland shared an article about a rainbow flag being raised in St. Petersburg, Florida to his Facebook page and added the comment, “It’s the queers they should be hanging, not the flag.”
Jury’s still out on whether he lost his job, but I’d say it’s a safe bet. Jesus. (via the Huffington Post)

Stonewall, an upcoming movie on the Stonewall Riots in New York, doesn’t have a single PoC as the lead.
I repeat… Stonewall, an upcoming movie on the Stonewall Riots in New York- a stance against police brutality, WHICH WAS LEAD BY TRANS WOMEN OF COLOUR- doesn’t have a single PoC as the lead.
Not to mention that Marsha P Johnson, THE trans woman who started it all, is a minor character who is being played by a cis man.
First the depoliticization of Pride, then the erasure of trans people, and now the white washing of queer history…amazing.

Summer is here!
Hello #trentqueers! This rather boring post begins the begining of the TQC’s summer program call out.
Basically, we’ve had enough of same-old-same-old, and want to engage with out stake-holders to synergize new stragtegies to optimize user experience.
And I’m not a marketing major or anything!
What that mess up there means is that send the TQC a message if you want to collaborate on a fun summer activity, or if you want to meet up.
The TQC wants to hear from you, whether you’re a new student, an alumni, or you juuuust so happen to live here.

Articles in the Arthur!
This is a shout out to everyone, any one who would be into telling me about what articles they want posted in our school paper. Right now, I want to begin working on a piece about Asexuality, because we at the TQC don't have any specific events going on right now about asexuality or focused on the asexual community. Oh but if one of you lovlies were to want to host one with our help, that would please us so very much. If you wanna talk about it, just put it in an ask.

Just an idea.
Tumblr media
First of all, HI! welcome back to another year with the TQC. I've been walking around campus and noticed a lot of you wearing pretty cool vests. Snazzy vests. Vests with juuuuuust enough room for one. more. patch. My question, therefore, is:
How many of our tumblr followers would be interested in us buying some batches of patches and turning one alphabet soup or B4Q's into a patch sewing party. We'll provide the supplies but of course you can bring your own.
In sad, sad, news my cat is not as cooperative as these ones, and refuses to wear a bandana, let alone a vest.

Trans*Space
A hang-out place for Peterborough and surrounding area trans*-identified and questioning folk to come hang out, chat, share knowledge, be ourselves, and build or find a sense of community and support. Come meet other local trans folk, enjoy free snacks, and maybe do some arts and crafts or play a board game depending how you're feeling! Held on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month.
(Please note that this is a drop-in space, so while you're more than welcome and encouraged to come for the entire two hours, you're also more than welcome to stop by for a shorter time!)
