a reference of machine's prosthesis and robotic parts. i also imagine he has chronic nerve pain from time to time.

i'm trying to find a balance between "he was modified to be a weapon and soldier so his prosthesis don't act 100 percent like real ones, and still acknowledging he's disabled through things like giving him a wheelchair, showing the phantom and chronic nerve pain he experiences and his nubs. i am open to feedback, especially from real people with prosthetic limbs on how best to execute his character.

i imagine mark and vivian met and fell in love as teenagers. back then mark was much different, very shy, quiet and awkward before growing into the person he is as an adult. and here, he's shyly enjoying his prom night with vivian while a photo is taken of them.

that ask also reminded me i drew machine and julie in their wedding outfits. they're based off 80s tuxes and wedding dresses, with machine additionally having punk elements and elements from traditional nicaraguan fashion. i imagine them being married in 1980 or 1981.

What juilie and everyone up to in modern day?

i feel like julie and machine fully settled into having a normal life, getting married and having kids and are still together and happy.

as for mark and vivian, i imagine vivian ends up becoming like a supreme court justice, a senator, a governor..something like that, not entirely sure, but whatever she ends up as, vivian uses her power and position for positive change, helping to make the world a better place. mark still participates in activist work too. i feel like they may end up having kids too, that mark was against it initially because of his past but changes his mind, something about the positive influence he could have on his kids.

also machine was born june 2nd, 1947 so he'd be 76 and turning 77 this year. julie, mark and vivian were all born in 1951 so they're all 72 and turning 73. vivian's birthday is actually coming up on the 12th so i'll have to draw something for that.

when it comes to the represntion in my story, i am mostly confident in what i'm doing, except with machine. as a cyborg, he is an amputee and with his half robotic face, i am pretty sure he can be considered a character with a facial difference, even with it being a sci fi one and not a real life one. i always wonder if i'm doing something wrong with him and i am way too shy and nervous to send questions to any blogs dealing with writing characters with disabilities/facial differences.

so..if you do ever have any kind of feedback on machine as representation, if there's anything i should fix or cut about him, please don't hesitate to let me know, especially if you yourself are an amputee or have a facial difference. i do want machine to be good representation after all.
