t*rfs also like to twist the fact that there’s little long-term medical research into transitioning (for both trans women and trans men) in order to abuse and frighten trans men into detransitioning (which, btw, often leads to the suicidal depression that dysphoria causes and transitioning alleviates!)

Fun facts for non trans women about tucking and why you shouldn’t demand it from us
This guide is for cis people and trans men and nonbinary people who don’t need to tuck
It will very easily cause us slight harm
It will very easily cause us great pain
It will very easily cause us permanent painful damage
It will probably make us infertile
It is extremely painful for many, for many it isn’t, but despite the pain we have to do it to be accepted
Around 40% of us can’t do it because our inguinal canals are tiny like they’re supposed to be, like medically if we do this we will 100% be permanently harmed
Why are you looking at our crotches
Just cause heppie tytoos or whatever your new fave drag queen is can do it, doesnt mean every amab can, the drag queen is also probably in pain
Fuck off, we don’t owe you anything
I haven’t done it so far, no one’s pointed it out, except Tumblr users who will “,just check in to see if I’m tuckin okay? I just wanna help you pass!”

When I posted that the music video for The Man and Taylor’s subsequent comments on it and the way ya’ll talked about it were transphobic I got multiple anonymous messages telling me to kill myself and no one spoke up but when she says the census erases trans people but does literally nothing else to help trans people ya’ll cis people call her an ally..............

nonbinary is a complete gender. you can be just nonbinary. you really don’t have to align yourself any more specifically than that
you don’t have to find the perfect just right word for your experience, you don’t have to parse out what named gender you’re closest to on a spectrum, what subset of nonbinary most closely reflects your truth, weigh your masculinity against your femininity against your androgyny to see what the total comes out to, you don’t have to label your gender by its relation or opposition to the gender you were assigned
all those things are great for exploring your gender & if you can find a home in them more power to you
but you don’t have to. you really can just be nonbinary

'if cis men can wear makeup why can't trans men' 'because they'll get misgendered'
wait so you're telling me they just get misgendered by invisible people? there's no one else in the equation who is DOING the misgendering? it just happens out of the blue?
'if cis men can wear makeup why can't trans men' because CIS PEOPLE will misgender them. make that clear. it is not the trans person's fault that SOMEONE ELSE decided to misgender them. we're doing baby steps here so if you tell someone 'hey actually I'm a dude' and they decide to take the action to misgender you, it sounds like that's their problem. you didn't put a gun to their head and force them to disrespect you. stop victim blaming trans people for the actions that transphobes decide to actively take.

we should uhhhh normalize non binary people or anyone under the nb umbrella choosing to use the trans flag to represent them instead of the non binary one or any other flag. the trans flag is for all of us, we are the white stripe and tbh ive gotten weird looks from people for calling myself trans and using the flag instead of the nb one. why! its ours too god dammit! we are still trans and we can use whatever god damn flag we feel like using

hi if you have a trans friend and are having a hard time with their pronouns let me introduce you to practice with pronouns!
you can also practice thinking about that friend with the correct pronouns so when you're speaking out loud it's not as hard to remember their pronouns
and remember: if you're having a hard time but you're trying your best, your friend very likely appreciates it so much just that you're trying so keep it up friends!

you need to support trans people who don't want top or bottom surgery and that has to include the potential for them not having top or bottom dysphoria, trans people still having sex, and trans people conceiving children regardless of how you personally feel about the subject.
and that's not just on cis people, thats on fellow trans people to be supportive of that too.

Things they don’t tell you about top surgery
- Talk to the surgeon about the size you want your new areolas/nipples (don’t be afraid to ask)
- Numbness. No one talks about this for guys who are about to have surgery. You’re going to be numb all in your chest area, especially where the incisions were. They cut nerves as they pass along your chest, and it can take up to a year to regenerate those nerves. Still, feels super foreign for the first two weeks
- Make your bed into a pillow chair, body pillow, two on each side, and two for your head.
- Sleep alone. I tried to sleep with my girlfriend and it was miserable. You really do need the entire bed for yourself
- Go on Groupon, & get yourself a 10 foot lightning cable iPhone charger, BEST THING EVER, can reach from wherever you are
- Don’t take a week off from work, take two. You will regret the one week, and love the extra time
- When they say “don’t move too much, even after the first week”. LISTEN. I moved way too much and got so sore super quickly.
- Drink lots of water & eat if your taking the pain medication, otherwise your stomach feels super funky.
- Get stool softeners, & don’t be afraid to take those babies. Don’t wait a week to poop. you’ll surely regret it.
- The drains are scary & they may hurt while draining or rewrapping your dressings, but once they come out, the second they do, its no more pain, its crazy.
i hope this helps someone, because i wish i knew all of this when i was having mine a month ago. Looking back its like everyone forgets all the real negatives, its a great experience, & i healed very well & quick compared to most, but the first few days are crazy. They hurt, suck but it gets better.

Last year, The HRC (Human Rights Campaign), reported that in 2019 alone, at least 26 trans and gender nonconforming people were killed in the United States alone. Disproportionately, Black trans people were the victims. Those I have illustrated here, do not even scratch the surface of what is, and should be recognised as, an epidemic. Now, more than ever, it is crucial that we do whatever we can to support the black trans community.
Please consider donating/signing the charities and petitions listed here.
