People don’t actually remember anything they experienced or did they before they were 3 and by the time they are 7 whatever memories they had from 3-6 years of age start to get erased. That’s 1/3 of childhood if you take childhood to be till till 18 and half childhood if you take childhood to be still puberty/teenhood. You should be meore concerned if you can recall anything from before you were 6. The few memories I have from that time seem to be all traumatic (running from armed fascists acting as “civilians”, watching Hague trials of war criminals as familt time etc.) So quite the opposite. Even after the age of 7 up to 18 my most vivid memories are negative but maybe that’s just my whole life has been hell. No wonder I’m constantly depressed.

Sometimes I feel like I’m trying to rationalize too many things but I have yet to see someone find a solution for patriarchy that isn’t just “So what if people don’t know who their fathers are and from whom they got half their genes”

Like imagine having a list of all the men your mother slept with and all the women those men slept with just to make sure you don’t end up hooking up with a half-sibling. Quite insane.

And if you say “Well women will just not change their partners fast and will not have more than one partner at the same time” I’m sorry tonsay but that’a actually patriarchy. It’s policing women’s sexual lives while men can sleep with many women at once. You may ponder if all you want but patriarchal rules are the only way to make paternity of a child known.

Yeah yeah there are DNA tests but are you going to take a DNA test everytime you hook up with someone? Any such society would be against spontaneous hooking up. You’d have to do a DNA test before you even go on a date or just be ok with the chance you’re doing incest.

I watched a documentary once about a sort of matrilineal society in China where children were raised by their mothers an uncles but the women still had one partner and idk if there was a rule that men could only have one partner at one or how they made their partners public. I highly doubt men would remain faithful just cause women tell them “be faithful”? Or that if their child wanted to have a realationship with someone with whose mother they hooked up with that they’d tell the truth: “Actually that person might be your sibling cause me and their mom hooked up”. Come on now.

I’d love to study matriarchal societies but they just don’t make sense to me and I don’t know how on earth these societies would have functioned with incest and all that horrible shit. So maybe we should just make incest ok in order to her rid of patriarchy?
