On my way back to Portland from Oslo, I got to see a tiny bit of Iceland from the window of my plane. As we got ready to make our descent into Keflavik Airport, I saw a plume of volcanic ash drifting in the sky below us.
When the plane landed, we walked down a ramp to the runway and I stopped for a minute to stare at the mountains in the distance. I'd love to come back to Iceland for another adventure someday.

On the way back to Oslo from Solvorn, the weather was cool and the sky was overcast. I felt right at home in the misty weather.
I was excessively excited to see quite a few buildings with sod roofs. Some of them looked very old, and others were shiny, modern green architecture style buildings that were clearly following in the same tradition.
Halfway through the trip, my bus stopped at a small town called Gol for the driver's lunch break. I got out and ran around a carnival that just happened to be going on right in the middle of the bus station's parking lot.
My favorite things were the off-brand Lord of the Rings themed prize booth and the extremely gummy-looking women airbrushed onto the Crazy Dance ride.

I ate cardamom buns all over Scandinavia. They were so good, I had to try them wherever I saw them. They were soft and fluffy, perfectly sweet, and aromatic from the cardamom. I'm going to need to learn how to make them, because now that I've had them, I'm not going to stop craving them.

When I arrived in Oslo, I was exhausted from a seven-hour train trip but I was still determined to make the most of my time there.
After a nap at my hotel I decided to rally myself to go out, and took the subway to Vigeland Sculpture Park.
By that point, it was night time, and about as dark as it would get, but it was still light enough to easily see my way to my goal: the incredible sculpture Man Attacked by Babies.
I am proud to say that I helped Man Attacked by Babies in his ongoing fight against the baby menace.
