Kim Rhode, the FIRST WOMAN and first Summer Olympian to medal in SIX consecutive Olympics. You’d think the glass ceiling crowd would be all over that, right? Not so much. She won those medals with a gun, doesn’t wear a hijab and is an outspoken supporter of the 2nd Amendment. Rhode began competing in skeet at age 10 and at 13, won her first world championship title in women’s double trap shooting. 1996 Olympics Rhode won a gold medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics, making her the youngest female gold medalist in the history of Olympic shooting. 2000 Olympics Rhode won a bronze medal at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia. 2004 Olympics Rhode also won a gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. 2008 Olympics Rhode won the silver medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in women’s skeet. 2012 Olympics On July 29 at the 2012 Summer Olympics, Rhode won the gold medal in skeet shooting with an Olympic record score of 99, tying the world record in this event.[5] With this medal, Rhode is the only American competitor to win medals for an individual event in five consecutive Olympics. She also became one of the three competitors (and the only woman) to win three Olympic individual gold medals for shooting, along with Ralf Schumann of Germany and Jin Jong-oh of Korea. 2016 Olympics Qualifying for the 2016 Summer Olympics made Rhode the first U.S. Olympian to qualify for an Olympic team on five different continents.[6]Kim Rhode won the bronze medal at the Rio 2016 Olympics making her the first Olympian to win a medal on five different continents.

Mengxue Zhang coasts to 10m air pistol gold
China’s Mengxue Zhang, 25, wins gold in the Women’s 10m air pistol event. This is the first gold medal for the Chinese in shooting, and fourth shooting medal overall in Rio.
Zhang was joined in the final three by two other first time Olympians, Vitalina Batsarashkina, 19, of Russia and Anna Korakaki, 20, of Greece. Batsarashkina is the second 19-year-old to win a shooting medal in Rio after Ginny Thrasher won gold in the 10m air rifle event.
China has dominated 10m air pistol over recent years, winning four of the last five gold medals in the event. They are the first country to claim gold in three straight Games in a single shooting event – men or women. Guo Wenjun, the two-time reigning gold medalist in the event was eliminated in qualification.
“I am so excited,” Zhang said. “I am still feeling the competition, I am still in that mood, and winning at the Olympic Games was my goal since I was young. Now I have the medal.”
Only joining international shooting one year ago, Zhang showed immense composure during the final round. The event, barring the extraordinary, was out of reach by the final three competitors.

The Margolin MCZ/MTS-3 “Rekord”. It’s a upside-down .22 Short target pistol for Olympic rapid-fire shooting. It caused quite the controversy during the 1956 Summer Olympics.
And the designer was blind.
