Chapter 19

Tae

“Damn Dray. You gon be good. It’s gon be alright.” I said to her while she had her head on my lap crying.

“How could he do that though Tae? I gave this nigga this many years of my life and he fucks it up with that bitch.”

“Y’all just need to talk when you calm down. Y’all gon be good. Don’t give that bitch the satisfaction of fucking y’all up. I’m not saying let him get away with what he did and that’s if he did something.”

“Why would he have a hickey on his neck if he didn’t?”

“Maybe she tried something and he turned her down. Just talk and listen aight. Don’t throw away eight years for a mistake.” She nodded and I sighed. “Now about this Helen bitch. Shall we handle her?”

“Hell yeah, she got it coming.”

“You can’t do it right now though. We got to wait; killing her right now would put you in the spotlight. Wait it out. We can fuck with her until that time comes though.” I said laughing. I really wanted that bitch dead asap but that couldn’t happen right now. Shit if it was up to me she would have died that night her and Kendra tried to pressed charges.

“Aight let’s go.” She sat up and looked at me.

“Right now?”

“Hell yeah come on. I know where she work.” She said and I stood up.

“Aight I’ll be right back.” I went to Chris’s den where he was watching ESPN like always. “Chris do me a favor.”

“What?” He looked at me and asked.

“I’m about to go handle something so watch your kids and keep an eye on Elijah.”

“Where you going?”

“To do something.”

“To someone? What’s going on?” I huffed and told him what happened with Draya and Trey and he looked shocked.

“Damn, that’s crazy. What you about to do though? You can’t kill the girl. Well not right now.”

“I know that, but we about go do something. Don’t worry about it. I promise we’ll be fine just keep an eye on Elijah.”

“Where is he?”

“Sleeping in our room. So go watch him please?” He stood up and turned his TV off.

“Aight I got you. Don’t get locked up though.”

“I’m not, we’re not going to do anything illegal. “ I said and he laughed.

“Go ahead I got it.” I smiled and kissed him.

“Thank you, I’ll be back in like an hour.” I walked out the room and went upstairs to put my shoes on. When I got back downstairs I grabbed my car keys and we left. While we were in the car Lauren called my phone. “Dray put that on speaker for me.” I asked her and she did it.

“Is Draya with you?” Lauren asked.

“Yeah she right here.”

“Wassup big mama.” Draya said and I laughed.

“Um why is your phone off?”

“Because somebody was calling me off the hook getting on my nerves.” She answered and I chuckled knowing she was talking about Trey.

“Is that somebody your husband?” Lauren asked.

“How you know?”

“Because this fool showed up at our house 1 something this fucking morning. The hell is going on?”

“He didn’t tell you?” Dray asked.

“Nope, I think he told Michael but I didn’t get a chance to ask. What happened?” Lauren asked and Draya ran down the whole story of what happened. “Are you fucking serious Dray? Oh hell no he about to get the hell up out my house.” She said and I laughed.

“Why he got to go?”

“Because this nigga did her dirty. That aint about to slide. We all warned him about that bitch but no that nigga want to be a naïve jackass. He got to go.” She said and me and Dray cracked up. Getting on Lauren’s bad side was not a good thing while she was pregnant.

“You don’t have to put him out. I rather him stay there then with Helen’s thirsty ass. I’m about choke that bitch.”

“Speaking of that raggedy bitch what you gon do?”

“We about to go see about this shit right now.” I answered and she sucked her teeth.

“Ugh! Man why I had to fucking pregnant. So not fair.” She said and we both laughed.

“We got this big mama. Sit down and relax.” Draya said and she sighed.

“Whatever kick her fucking ass yo. Like seriously kick her ass. She press charges again I’ll bail y’all out no problem.”

“We got this aight. We’ll call you back later. Go sit your pregnant ass down.” I said and she sucked her teeth.

“Whatever, I want to know everything. Later.” She said before hanging up. We pulled up to Helen’s job and I parked the car.

“This bitch work at a jewelry store?” I asked Draya and she nodded.

“Yeah, well let’s get it.” We both got out of the car and walked inside.

“There she go?” I said pointing at her behind the counter to somebody I’m guessing is her boss. Draya walked over and leaned on the counter. I walked over and stood next to her and cleared my throat. When they looked up Helen’s eye got wide.

“What are y’all doing here?” She asked us.

“Oh I came to talk to you for a minute.”

“I’m working.”

“No it’s fine Helen. It’s your break time anyway.” The man said walking into the back.

“So…why you look so shocked seeing me?”

“What do y’all want?”

“Truthfully I want to run your head through this glass counter but you know what. This is a public place and I know how you like to press charges so I’m not going to do that. But let me tell you something. I know you tried something with Trey.”

“I don’t know what you talking about Draya.”

“Bitch do I look like a fucking idiot to you? I know what you tried to do.” Draya yelled but then s stopped and took a deep breath. “Listen to me. If you want to be a mother to your son and be here to watch him grow up. I would advise you to stop fucking with me. I’m gon let your breath right now but know that if you ever in your fucking life try some shit like that again it will be the last day you breathe. You got me? Do we have an understanding?”

Helen just stood there looking dumb as fuck. Quiet. It was so silent you could hear a peace of tissue drop.

“Um can you answer the damn question. I aint got all day bitch.” I said to her snapping her back to reality. She looked at me and rolled her eyes. “Watch that shit. I aint Draya I don’t give a fuck about getting locked up. I’ll get bailed out.” I said and she looked down. Yeah bitch knows better.

“Look I need you to get this shit. This is your first and only warning and the only reason you getting this shit is because of your son. But you better believe the next time you think it’s okay to cross me you gon be getting fitted for a fucking body bag. Now do you get what I’m saying or do I have to knock some sense into you because you’re stuck on stupid.”

“I-I get it Draya.”

“Aight then Tae let’s be out before I spit in this bitch face.” She said and I nodded.

“Aight oh yeah. I forgot to tell you this. It’s old but I feel the need to bring it up again.” I leaned on the counter so she could get a real good look at my face. “Remember that night when you and your bitch ass friend tried to jump bad. Well a little birdie told me you tried to sneak me from the back. You know that’s in complete violation right?” I said and she nodded. This bitch is such a fucking punk I can’t. “Well you know since Dray gon let you breathe right now I’ll let this slide. But know this you fuck up, and she get ready to fuck you up. I will be right there with her and you know what that can get like so you might want to sit straight and fly right. As soon as you go left field your life is over.” I said and turned to Draya. “Let’s go.” I said and we walked out and went to my car and got in. “Where to?”

“Lauren’s house, I want to see what this nigga got to say for himself.” She said and I nodded. This should be entertaining.

Draya

When we walked into Lauren’s house Sky ran up to us.

“Hi auntie Draya. Uncle Trey here, he spend the night.” She said and I laughed.

“I know.”

“Aunt Tae don’t get no love?” Tae said.

“Sorry, hi auntie.” She hugged her and I laughed.

“Sky where is your uncle?”

“In the movie room with daddy.” She said and I nodded.

“Alright tell your mommy I’m up there okay.” I said and she said yes and went off with Tae. I went upstairs to their theatre room and walked in. When I did these niggas were watching ESPN like always. I don’t even understand that this shit is boring. I walked down to the front and tapped Trey on the arm. When he looked up his eyes got wide.

“Draya, what you doing here?”

“I came to talk to you. Ty can you give us a minute?” I asked him and he nodded.

“No problem. Work this shit out, and I’m talking to both of y’all.” He said getting up and walking out. I sat down and looked at Trey.

“Look, I need you to tell me everything that went on at her house Trey.” I said and he sighed.

“Nothing, she tried to make something happen but I pushed her off of me. I didn’t fuck her or anything. Just because we have an argument don’t mean I’m gon go fuck somebody else Dray.”

“So why were you gon so long?”

“I was just driving. I know it sounds like bullshit but that’s what it is.” He said and I nodded.

“I believe you. Besides I went to see Helen today anyway.”

“What she say?”

“Nothing the bitch was sitting there nervous. She was about to give me some bullshit story but I deaded that real quick. Trey do you see why I didn’t want you around her?”

“Yea I see that now. I was being an idiot. I can admit that and I’m sorry aight.” He said and I nodded. “You still love me?” He asked and I smiled.

“Yes I still love you. I don’t know if Lauren does.”

“Yeah she been iffy with me. It just came out of nowhere too.”

“That’s because I told her what happened so yeah. It’s a girl thing.” I said and he laughed.

“I get it. So can I come back to my own house now?”

“Yeah you can. Don’t be around Helen alone though. I already told her ass if she tried something else she was gon be missing.”

“I got you I aint even about to go there with that bitch.”

“Good, I would hate to have to hurt you.” I said seriously and he nodded.

“I got you I promise.” He kissed me and I smiled.

“Good.”

“Where Elijah at?”

“Chris is watching him. You want to go get him?”

“Yeah you chilling here for a minute or not?”

“I’m gon see about big mama for a minute. You can get him and go home.”

“Aight, “We both got up and he hugged me. “You know I love you more than anything right?”

“Yeah I know. I love you too. Now go get your son.” I kissed him one more time and he nodded. I hope this nigga does not try me again.
