Roxie pulled a Beast ball out from her belt. Normally she wouldn't have had it on her person, but she had wanted to give the pokemon a bit of a walk today. opening it, out floated a jellyfish like-creature shining gold that quickly cowered behind the gym leader in fear of the stranger in front of her.

"Elesa, meet hat. My Nihilego."

"An ultra wormhole?! Does that mean an Ultrabeast-- Are you okay?! Did anyone get hurt?"

Somehow, Elesa thought that Roxie would be a lot less blasé about the whole a wormhole opened up and spat out an ultra beast situation. Those things were dangerous! She didn't personally know much about the whole "Ultrabeast" thing in Alola, but she knew enough.

Apparently though, she'd been so busy that she'd missed the meeting about one showing up in Unova. Somehow, that made her feel worse. Sure, every Gym Leader had to deal with their own problems in their respective areas, and Roxie was very capable, but still! She was allowed to be worried.

Elesa twiddled her thumbs a bit, then, after a moment of silence, asked, "... How cute is cute as a button? Can I see it?" Danger be damned if it was cute.

"Worst incident that happened was an Ultra Wormhole opening over it and the cover-up we had to do to keep the public from panicking. But hey, it gave me a new partner that I can't use for gym battles but is just cute as a button so it balances out."

The whole 'protector' part of her job could be frustrating, especially when it came to having to hide things that were league officials eyes only like the existence of ultra beasts. She loved her hat and wanted to show it off, but since it was an alien pokemon only a select few could know about, she had to keep the poor thing in its pokeball most of the time.

"Yeah, I got time. Gym's not open to the public today so you can come there if you want a drink. "

"That's good at least. Glad to know your dad and you are keeping as busy as always! Though I hope things haven't been too difficult at the industrial park."

Elesa clasped her hands behind her back and rocked back a bit on her heels. It was a small miracle that she didn't tip right over as she rocked back and forth, though since she practically lived in heels, it probably wasn't all that surprising that she could balance briefly on the narrow heels of her shoes.

"If you have some time," Elesa said, dropping back onto the balls of her feet. "it'd be really great to hang out. No comedy clubs this time, Skyla would be totally jealous if only you got to hear some of my new jokes." She knew that was a stretch; Skyla would probably be thankful that her ears had been spared that "honor."

It felt like Roxie had seen Elesa less and less in recent times. She remembered when she'd drag her, Skyla, and Burgh to parties together even if it took them time to warm up, or having to endure comedy sets from Elesa and Skyla and wanting to bash her head in with her own bass, but nowadays all she saw of her friend was just on modeling covers or interviews. Even for a party girl like her it got lonely without her close friends popping by every now and then.
