hihihi long time no see!

I figured I'd boot up my tumblr again since I've been burned out on twitter for a long time now, and cleared out a lot of my follows so that this can mostly be a "reconnect with friends and maybe get back into posting art" zone

anyway! I graduated college with a degree in 3D animation last year, and now work at a local engineering firm in their Learning and Development department as a video editor/motion graphics artist/graphic designer/blah blah blah etc. I wear a lot of hats! I also do some volunteering as a graphic artist and animator for a children's charity

anywho, I hope everyone has been doing well! feel free to drop me a line if you want to say "hi!" :]

i say “long story short” re: torsten and vimur’s relationship because i have typed up 15 pages of Background Lore regarding torsten, the almeda station, and the politics of solar system that torsten is from, all of which are relevant. wanted to spare you all that suffering dfhgfjf

this is Vimur Myrdal, secretary of the senior staff aboard the Almeda Outpost Station, where Torsten used to work as a teacher. Torsten had a number of run-ins with them, and to make a very long story short: Torsten went to them to get classified/sensitive information about the inner workings of the Almeda, which ultimately ended up with Vimur getting fired (though not of Torsten’s own will). Nowadays, Vimur vehemently hates Torsten because of that. Although, they’ve always been a pretty shady and ominous individual.

i showed them to our GM and I’ve already gotten confirmation that they’re gonna show up at some point during our campaign so needless to say i am Excited

tragically, two of my college buds threw me back to circa-2013 me when i was briefly into danganronpa and am now thoroughly infected with dongobongo brainrot 😔

BUT we got a group of us together and made a fan DR class! these are my three kiddos: we got hideshi (ultimate vice president), masao (ultimate postman), and chinatsu (ultimate meteorologist)!!! i love them so much

while on the topic of Lancer, i’m working with our GM (the aforementioned friend from back home) to design some of the NPCs from our campaign! 

This is Dangerous Lee, the pilot who carts around our Lancers and their mechs from mission to mission. I think they may have been meant to be a one-off NPC, but they’ve claimed a spot in all of our hearts with their lower-case, no-punctuation dialogue and chill personality. also Lee and Torsten are friends now and I live for it?? 

the description i got from the GM was basically these qualities: “Filipino Shaggy”, lanky, red jumpsuit with pushed-up sleeves, and eyes always covered by goggles or hair. needless to say, they were a ton of fun to design!

first art posts in a long while!!

my best friend back home invited me to join a campaign of Lancer, a RPG where you play as a mech pilot (called a “Lancer”) and go around fighting bad guys and exploring space! it’s very sci-fi and a TON of fun!!

this is my character, Torsten Wallis, a teacher-turned-Lancer! He used to teach aboard a space haven near a few war-torn planets, and his students were children of military personnel or refugees (the second image is from back when he was still teaching). As a Lancer, his mech, Vipunen, is designed to hit fast and hit hard, built to be quick and work best in close quarters battle
