Just came across your blog and your recent post about racism. (And the linked stereotype post) Unless you're actually stereotyping Asian men IRL, you're not contributing to racism or fetishization with what you do IMO; You just have a type. You can like Asian men without making assumptions about them or their race. Occasional bad actors don't make EVERYONE bad. I don't think you're doing wrong, personally.

I thought about this whole deal for quite a while, yes I cannot control what other ppl think, and I tried to post everyone's faves and not only mine. I didn't do any better or worse than everyone else posting gifs and pics of the actors, it's a serious issue, but my part in it seems to be insignificant.

And with going away from twitter I think I can give this another go.

it's official, tbotd is in indefinite hiatus

so hi, how long it's been, it's sad that we got reunited this way

one persistent question while running tbotd was if I was contributing to the fetishization and sexualization of the asian ppl, mainly japanese, and while I can talk about my intentions, that does little to the change the actual content or how ppl interacted with it. Bc as small as I am in the grand scheme, I have to still consider my actions.

If I can't find an answer if I'm contributing to the spread of dehumanization of asians through "look at how pretty he is" I just can't continue, and that is an answer I haven't found yet.

Some help in identifying suit actors cameos.

Any scenes where civilians take part in the action are probably done by suit actors

Security guards, policemen and thugs are the most common appearences

Movies, early part or the very end of a series have the highest chance

If you spot one there are probably others

They are normal looking people so they can blend in, but the director usually gives them a close up or a spoken line.

Trust your instincts, if you think you've seen that background character, check out

Of course it helps to know their faces, a quick look on the series' suit actors is enough.

There's a lot of undiscovered or at least undocumented cameos, so you can probably still find some on your own, even in popular series.

I haven’t watched this week episode when writing this, but now I did and oh god

Toku Confession/Unpopular Opinion: I love the pacing of Saber because it keeps me invested so easily, qnd there's something new happening every episode

I haven’t seen talks about saber’s pacing to determinate if it’s really a hot take, I even see more ppl talking about 01 than saber, but at this point saber is a controversial topic in the fandom

But now that you mention I’ll pay more attention to the pacing, however that’s something complicated to evaluate, especially this early on, let’s wait for how the second arc will turn out, I feel like they’re setting up something interesting,
