I dreamt that I held her hand again. I was leaning on her shoulder and there was a movie that I can’t quite remember the title of playing in the background. She didn’t pull away, no, not even a single bit. I couldn’t sit there without thinking of her boyfriend, but with her fingers in the empty spaces between mine, we both knew that was exactly where we were meant to be.

Whenever I get hurt again and spend another night crying, I wake up in the morning and I tell myself that it’s gonna be fine. That in a couple weeks I’ll be okay and it won’t occupy my mind as much as it does now. It’s always me trying to convince myself that this is the way life goes and getting heartbroken is something that is bound to happen. But, for once, I wish it would go right. Instead of opening my swollen eyes the next day, wondering what I did wrong this time, I would wake up to their face and I would’ve finally done it the right way.
