My Thought For The Day....
“Keep Moving Forward One Step At A Time”
I tend to look at the darker side of life, I think it’s about time to check out the bright side and see how the other half lives.
Life is hard, I know that, you know that, so in the end it’s what WE make of it that determines the future!
This post is more about sending it to myself, am I listening?

Snowbird Pt.3
The next day we are trying to get to the mountain only to find out that the Canyon Rd is closed, no way in or out. So much for trying to get to some powder. Utah is experiencing the biggest snowfall in 15 yrs as luck would have it. We decided to try to get to Brighton Ski Resort, along with thousands of others that where trying to get some powder, and powder we found!

Snowbird
Part 2: Our flight from Virginia was scheduled to leave at 5:30am, when you think about getting to the airport, checking in and getting through security, I had to get up at 3:30am (damn that’s too early).
Took us 3 flights to get to Utah and we arrived at 12:30 mt time, which was good. Got our rental car, went grocery shopping and checked into our residence. We booked a place in Sandy, Utah, it was very nice with 3 bedrooms, kitchen, living room and pool table, we also had a hot tub.
Did I tell you we arrived at the beginning of the biggest snow storm in 15 yrs? Yea, and one of the guys was adamant about going to Park City that night (for what I still don’t know).
So, after getting to the house and unpacking we are now in early evening and the snow has started to come down and we are traveling to Park City at night, in the storm and as you can guess, we can’t see shit.
The restaurant we decided to go to the “Blind Dog” was very good, no complaints there. But to go all that distance ( a 45 min drive turned into about 1.25 hrs was bullshit).

Needless to say we never saw Park City, I’m sure it’s beautiful, maybe next time.

Here is a landscape design that I did for a client who lives in Canada. This is just an example of the work I do. I am a landscape designer, and most of my design work has come from different companies in the United States and Canada. These days it’s not necessary to be living in the same area to help clients with projects. Check out more on facebook @tjlaceydesigns

Utah Snowbird
My friends decided that if I was never going to ski again that we needed to go on a big ski trip. They have been talking about this for about  4 years now and finally we had a reason! Did I tell you that they are all half my age? But they like skiing with me, so what ever. We settled on Snowbird Utah, I had never been to this resort so it sounded good.
We did our research, talked a lot about it (daily, the group chat got to be pretty crazy at times), and decided to book the trip for Feb 5-9, 2019 skiing (3) days travel two.
One guy did all the bookings, vehicle rental and housing, and did an excellent job at all three. My job, cooking, which I love to do and I am very good at it as I cook all our meals at home (more on that in other posts). One guy we labeled as security, he is 21 and in the military, and the title fit him. The last, was in charge of entertainment, albeit we didn’t do to much in that department.
To be continued...............

skiing
So I have been skiing for 32 years and have been to Italy, Colorado, Utah, Canada, Vermont, New York, Virginia and West Virginia. Now, I am recovering from a total knee replacement and I thought I was done skiing forever. When you do something for that length of time, you can get emotional in thinking it was the end.
But, I have lots of support and I believe I will be back on the slopes, enjoying the sport I was destine to do. “I will be back”

My first post
So, I am new to blogging and trying to 1. figure it out; 2. is it worth my time or is this just another venue of bull shit that no one really cares about (nor should they); 3. my real purpose in doing a blog is to promote my internet landscape design business.
So there it is, but having said that, I think I do have things to share, for instance; I am an avid skier and have been to and plan to go to many ski resorts and I have lots of experience.
I am older, so I have lots of things I can share regarding age and knowledge (sounds like a bunch of crap, doesn’t it)?
I am planning on building our second new home, this time my wife and I will be the general contractor, the original one, we did most of the work, and it was a labor of love.
I am a landscape designer. I have been in the business for 35+ years and have done everything to hardscape to internet landscape design working for clients in the USA and Canada. I work in a program called Dynascape and have been for almost 20 years and produce 3D designs in SketchUp.
So follow along, let’s have fun and see what happens. Thanks for listening!
