What is 12 volt timer switch?

Timer switch are electronic switches that incorporate a built in clock. These are often designed for use with a specific item. The switches physical arrangement allows the device that is connected or the device(s) to receive power automatically for duration of time. There is also a variation to this (the timer switch), this one actually allows you to pick the time you want it to go on and off, it can all be set by you (you use the timer on the switch to choose how long you desire the connected devices to have power for.
The timed version are available in two different types (Completely electronic or Mechanical), the mechanical versions use a circular dial that must be turned around to the time you want, once the wheel turns past a designated spot the mechanism will click in to place and either switch the device on or off. The timer of 12 volt timer switch is used to control when the actuator is activated. The timer is set to choose which times the switch is closed. By connecting to the relay this switch chooses which times the relay is active and deactivated.
