Thomas growing more jaded and losing his mischievous and childish personality? Edward and Henry getting tired and becoming bitter about how they're treated?? Gordon and James growing even more arrogant and completely lose their empathy/sympathy??? Percy sticking by Diesel 10's side in DotD and betraying the steam team????

Like how interesting would it be to have a villain Toby or Duck au? I'd love to see an au where any of the main 6/steam team + little western (or honestly any character) go off the deep end and turn villainous.

In honor of Emily Day i made a fake vhs cover based on the "Best Of..." collection. In my head there'd be 20 episodes from model and cgi series that focuses on Emily. She's one of my favorites, I still remember watching her debut episode on tape. Ever since I felt she earned her spot as #12. I drew everything from scratch inclduing the background and rails. Here's the references I used:

The many colors of Lady

I remember seeing someone's homemade model of Lady where they painted her blue and that gave me the idea to try different colors. Blue looks really good on her though i also like the red. Tbh I think blue fits her the best since it could be a visual connection to Lily's bluebird & the Conductor family.

Skarloey Railway Humanized Designs (RWS version, 1950s)

Here are my designs for the members of the SR! I had a lot of fun trying to design "uniforms" for them -- Skarloey and Rheneas are still in their 19th century outfits (symbolizing how they've grown old and tired at this point in time before heading out to be mended), while the newer additions are in a more contemporary 1950s style. Rusty, of course, is wearing workwear and some safety gear.

TVS alternate palettes and more under the cut!

I guess, just for fun and curiosity, I made an alternate palette for their TVS counterparts to see what they'd look like in a row! It was simple swaps for most of them (except for Rusty).

I gave Duncan a pompadour because it's the 1950s and, well, he's into rock 'n' roll and all ;) Sometimes I feel like the more I draw him, the more his hair gets bigger... (Also, I gave Duncan bright green eyes to match TR No. 6 Douglas's original livery as a part of the Air Service Construction Corps.)

Finally, here's some further reference for Skarloey and Rheneas's "uniform" -- it's based on 1860s fashion, and I've been thinking about having it so that after returning from their respective overhauls, they'll end up wearing the same standard outfit their other fellow steam engines are. (And, I've also come up with new outfits for the entire railway in the 1980s...)

thinking about white-collar office worker au where all the sodor railway blokes are working their remote jobs doing business management for the railway companies and its The Most Office Job Environment Ever.

Henry is the idiot who's muted over zoom and doesn't know it until someone tells him he's muted and he can't figure out why. James and Thomas get a screen cap of him leaning in trying to figure it out and change their Webcam backgrounds so everyone thinks they're Henry all the time.

Edward is the human resources representative and he is so fucking overworked by these clowns.

Gordon is the floor administrator and is looking for ANY valid reason to fire James but James is so fucking good at marketing he can't in good conscience get rid of him.

Percy is the IT wizard who everyone assumes is a robot and sleeps in the office and can fix literally anything. No one knows how. It Just Works™️. Gordon struggling with his Webcam and Percy sneezes on it: fixed. Convinced he is just an AI.

Thomas is the temp worker who never left.

The skarloey and culdee fell railway representatives work on the floor below them and just have constant noise complaints.

Plus they all get cute button ups and ties.
