DustyClan applications are now open!

Less than a moon ago, DustyClan's only Reverend, Cranestep, was found murdered on his way to the half-moon meeting. There were no clues about his murder aside from brown furs and the vague scent of RustClan found at the scene. Merlinstar has tried her best to hold her clan together, but many of her cats are eager to turn the blame to the clans outside their borders.

Now, DustyClan is a clan held divided, only barely held at bay by their leader while tensions simmer beneath the surface. Will the cats of DustyClan put away their biases in order to solve Cranestep’s death, or will they let mistrust and doubt destroy them from the inside?

Chasing Thunder is a 16+ warrior cats roleplay set in the American Great Plains during the 1890s. Chasing Thunder centers around three clans - PrairieClan, DustyClan, and RustClan - and the new world that they’re living in following a war with the brutal Red Claw Gang.

Chasing Thunder focuses heavily on player engagement and allowing players to affect and become invested in the story. The actions of individuals matter greatly, and may permanently change the course of the plot. Players will be given the opportunity to suggest their own plot ideas and create characters as part of overarching story beats in order to influence the world of Chasing Thunder.

INTRODUCING

>> Lionkit | DustyClan Kit | 4 moons | he/him | played by Mod Griffin

Lionkit is the son of Hemlockgaze, born into DustyClan alongside his sister, Lambkit. He’s always admired his older brother, Cranestep, and has wanted to be just like him for as long as he can remember. While not the brightest kit, Lionkit is determined to be the best warrior he can be. He is practically bouncing off of the walls in anticipation of his upcoming apprenticeship.

Lionkit doesn’t understand why Cranestep hasn’t come home. The concept of death isn’t easy for a kit his age to grasp, and he can’t wrap his head around why Cranestep was here one day and wasn’t the next. Having never known a world in which RustClan doesn’t exist, he doesn’t understand why so many cats are blaming them for Cranestep’s sudden disappearance.

Lambkit is Hemlockgaze’s daughter, born into Dustyclan alongside her brother, Lionkit. She’s always been very attached to her family, though with how great they all seem to be, she feels that she has a hard time being their equal, and worries that she’ll never fully escape their shadow.

Cranestep has been gone for a while now…she’s overheard cats discussing what happened to him, but being so young she hasn’t fully grasped it yet. Still, she understands that her older brother will not be returning anytime soon, if not ever, and that knowledge has sparked a more…investigative side to her. What happened to her brother? Why did he leave? She hasn’t figured out why yet, but if there’s one thing Lambkit knows, it's that she’ll be the one to piece it together. Who knows, maybe this will be the thing that really solidifies her place?

>> Pistolfire | DustyClan Journeyman Warrior | 20 moons | they/them | played by Mod Griffin

Pistolfire is a young DustyClan warrior, and the adopted child of Merlinstar. They were found alongside their siblings in town after the disappearance of their mother, and were quickly taken into DustyClan. The three kittens were apprenticed shortly before the final battle which ended the war with the Red Claw Gang. In the chaos, Pistolfire’s two siblings were killed.

Now a warrior, Pistolfire is known for their sharp tongue and cold attitude. They are hard to get along with, and even harder to befriend, but they are loyal to DustyClan until the end. They have always been vocal in their dislike of RustClan and their presence in the territories. They are convinced that RustClan had a part to play in Cranestep’s murder.

A noble leader, Merlinstar has always been a level headed cat, even in the face of violence. She was quick to aid Bronco in taking down Crimson, and despite a growing distrust in her clan born from the war, Merlinstar has remained open hearted and open minded, believing that shutting themselves in would only lead to more unnecessary bloodshed.

Some may have to wonder though, with how often she visits the border and with how loose she can be with her rules…has she become too soft? Too open?

The leaders of the three clans have been working hard to maintain peace in the rapidly-changing political climate, but the recent mysterious murder of DustyClan's only Reverend casts doubt on the clans' ability to live together.....

This is my last post about this whole Cloudsnap thing but anyway -

To anyone saying that it's your responsibility to fact-check the entire Cloudsnap thing (which, btw, this is warrior cats tumblr and not a research paper - you should not be expected to fact check anything you see) it's very hard to find google results that give a conclusive answer to if they are real or not!

When googling "Cloudsnap warriors", the results are all from tumblr accounts posting about them. At the time I'm looking it up, the results say:

"brightheart and cloudsnap should have a group therapy session"

"this is mainly about cloudsnap's struggle with mistystar"

"my take on cloudsnap....ik they've been described as a tortie but it just doesn't FIT"

"its nice people are talking about cloudsnap again"

"thanks to [creator of Cloudsnap] I now know about Cloudsnap! It's crazy how there are so many background characters in warriors"

"Cloudsnap isn't a real warriors character"

It takes multiple results to find anything that mentions Cloudsnap not being real! No one is trying to spread hate to anyone who's been participating, we are just asking people to be more conscientious as it is difficult to find anything actually explaining the situation.

Adding onto this to say that if you think it's fun to deliberately spread misinformation and confuse people because "they didn't read all the books" then you need to sit down and think about what you're actually doing, because I can guarantee you that mindset doesn't end at the warrior cats fandom.

Hey Cloudsnap is a great character idea and all, but…You guys do realize you’re really fucking with people with things like psychosis and memory issues, right? This is very, VERY unfriendly to people with mental illnesses and/or disorders and you guys need to either tone it down or start being more clear that this is a joke. 

Edit: Cloudsnap is a made up character that people are pretending to be real to “mock people and the writers who forget certain characters exist”. They’re playing it completely straight and not being clear that it’s a joke.

Old AU of mine where Reedshine protects Mapleshade in front of Riverclan instead of taking Appledusk’s side. And nothing bad happend after that. 

Still love the idea. They become mates in the end.
