Most meals, foods, or drinks have to do with his youth and father... Albeit his father and himself always found themselves struggling when they were finally free together... Kurda always had enjoyed the improvised soups his father made, but it was consistently made with the same broth bases, no matter what type of meat went into the soup. He has no idea how his father made the base since, when Kurda was fleeing the flat silently, he had only taken his father’s letter addressed to him, all the coin he could find, and a bag of clothing. Now most soups with a watery base are more bland to him and don’t have that spark he wishes it had in the past.

Cheese is an interesting food too and 100%, he’s a cheese guy. He’s definitely seen cheeses though the ages “go through their peek” per say or a “recipe get stolen” and he can tell you after buying an item that it’s “not the same recipe ever since the opening of the shop like they say they're doing”. His favourite has to be tomme and the more creamier cheeses. He also does does wish that the recipes did stop changing every now and then, but change does happen as time passes. It is inevitable.

In his Genshin verse... His father would know how to make a Thousand-Wind Wine... Of course it would be unique to his father - as it also would be to every Mondstadter or pair who made the brew. Let alone, no bottle would taste exactly the same! Kurda knew this, but he’d find himself missing his father’s Thousand-Wind Wine from time to time. Even though he would only get to drink only a few times as his father was attempting to find a bachelor when he was young - the blonde would sometimes try to make the same brew himself when he was under the eyes of his first sire, but always fail or be deterred away from “such useless things”.

While searching for answers to certain goals of his own, Kurda tends to have the mindset to give-up anything of his own. This can range from many things - be it the replaceable or irreplaceable types. His own or his group’s sundries when journeying can be replaced, bettered at times, and sometimes even need to be replaced depending on the situation. However, he has offered up his own life as surrender around twice up to the present time in his lifetime... Which is obviously something that cannot be replaced.

In most verses... When it came to his first encounter to a member of the rival clan - Voss - he was nearly killed, yet it wasn't due to his own surrender, at first. He was willing to offer up his own life again, after tension settled initially to learn about the rival clan, however the two would trade information and learn about each other while they lived underground. In a second encounter with a group of the rival clan - lead by Glalda - he asked his apprentices to stay behind so he could potentially surrender himself to them. Gaël would almost follow, but Kurda would glare and silence the younger vampire, letting it be only his life on the line... Though, upon surrendering himself, Kurda would only be permanently marked on his face by the head of the group after leading the conversation once threatened and partner with the group alongside his apprentices in the end.

Kurda does know certain things can be irreplaceable... His hunger for knowledge is something that cannot be sustained. Even if he does get answers to lay out a plan of action towards a certain goal of his, he will always need to have another goal to feed knowledge into for the future. He can't just stagnate for too long, he has to know new things, and he will figure out how to get what he wants no matter what it takes.

Even though he aims to never sacrifice anyone while becoming more wise and accomplishing his goals... It could potentially cost someone else their life one day.

Though, I saw him - in the dream - sitting partly on his velvet couch.. In front of his fireplace reading a book. I can’t recall what book, but I feel like it was about policy in the era... HEADCANON/DRABBLE BASED ON A WORD // accepting headcanon

Keepsakes are usually hard to maintain in their culture seeing as they cannot settle down and keep memories physical in all forms. Photos are nigh impossible unless they were captured before the human was turned into a vampire and let alone keeping the photo in a pristine condition is another thing entirely... Most vampires live life in the moment or they’ve become old enough and just wait for their time to come, accepting death as a pseudo-suicide. Sometimes keepsakes have been looked down upon since life isn’t supposed to be weighed down by “who one once was” or “who they used to be around” it should be about “who they are now”.

Its true that Kurda believes holding onto things weighs one down when you’re supposed to travel lightly from place to place as a vampire, though, he doesn’t believe in the mentality that one should move on entirely from their past. If they want to look back on who they once were and they want to hold onto a rare keepsake that they happen to have on their person... They deserve to hold onto those nostalgic feelings both in a physical and mental manner for as long as possible... Kurda knows he will with his late father’s letter.

Though, living in the moment is another matter entirely in Kurda’s eyes! He believes one should make the best of the memory and make sure that it makes an impression on one’s own mind, regardless if its good or bad. Good days and bad days (well nights for his apprentices and himself) happen regardless with or without reason, but they tend to balance out in the long run in his mind. The better one can recall a memory, the more one was living in the moment at the time and he finds that lovely.

Whenever possible Kurda would also sketch out something in charcoal to capture something that happened in the instance... Then leave the page in the area before leaving. Even if the page gets destroyed by the elements eventually, drawing something helps him process events better at times.
