Giving up on something that’s not right for you anymore can be healthy and positive. While it’s important not to give up on what matters, we’re totally allowed to let go of things that don’t. 🙏💛
Hello everyone! Real life caused the longest hiatus everrrrr, but I never left the doll hobby.
I will try to come back to posting again. As usual, I will mix my own content with Tumblr content that inspires my dolls, and everything will be tagged with the dolls’ names, so you can use the sections at the top of the blog to navigate their tag as their ‘personal blog’.
Besides my own characters (which amount to like… 7? probably more, it is time for a headcount), I have Vocaloid and Legend Of Zelda dolls now!
Here you are a quick overview of what my Pullip dolls look like after I get my hands on them. I can share more detail in the future if anyone is interested, do not be shy!
These are the bodies I use:
Pullip has two different options:
Curvy Made-To-Move (MTM) Barbie: nice feel, nice articulation, beautiful proportions. It might be difficult to colour-match, but mine are close enough for my liking. Also makes them a bit taller. I researched a lot before doing it, I am far from the first one. I remember @dolldirt having a wonderful example, I’ll see if I can fish it for a reblog. No one mentioned modifications to the head, but I did have to cut part of the backplate (can be glued back together with the toilet paper trick, so no big deal) besides sanding down the barbie neck. The one in the picture also has Pure Neemo feet, by the way.
Obitsu 26cm with M chest: very standard 'lollipop doll’ look, but with nicer and more natural/human-like features, as well as far better posing. Can use some Pullip/Isul clothing. Optional hands are a fun feature too! Also makes them a bit shorter.
Isul gets Obitsu 24cm with S chest. Same as the other Obitsu for Pullip, really. I like the fact that the Obitsu bodies have more natural-looking (read: not teeeeny tiny) feet, but getting shoes for these girls is going to be a chore.
Taeyang gets Made-To-Move (MTM) Ken, only available so far in the BRM1959 collector line. Same as barbie: nice feel, nice articulation, beautiful shape, difficult to colour-match. I can’t get the neck to look any better, but I got used to it by daily exposure.
I love when old stuff of mine gets found again! Like, I spent time on setting it free on the Internet, let it keep running, let it find new people to be appreciated by.
Nowadays, content is expected to be consumed quickly and forgotten just as fast, and I find that so sad...
thetrinketgal replied to your post “I hate when you’re browsing through a blog you don’t follow and you…”
why would that be bad? Same with reblogging old content - if it is still online, why wouldn’t you appreciate it? Reblog away!
How dare you sound so mature and rational.
(I feel awkward about reblogging old content, too lol. There’s nothing wrong with either, I just have weird hang-ups.)
Design, patterns and sewing made by me. The dress is renaissance inspired, with some personal modifications. The whole dress was hand sewn, including the hems. More pictures of it and a tutorial can be found on my blog.
