[7-8-21] Today's reading is with my Pocket Osteomancy set!
Tooth: This bone is right in the center of the seasons. This means that you have a lot of potential options in front of you, and you may not be entirely sure which one you want to take just yet. Hopefully this means that you are encountering a wealth of opportunities, as opposed to a pile of confusion. Either way, look to the other bones for direction on what decision you should make next, and perhaps consider keeping as many options open as possible for a while so that you aren't losing possible gains.
Vertebra: Just about to cross over from Winter into Spring, the Vertebra suggests that although your resources may have been lean for the time being, you are about to shift gears into growth. It will take some preparation, of course, and you may not see the returns immediately. But this is a good sign that change is on the horizon, and you just need to hang tight until you can get through to the other side.
Rib: Fully settled in Summer, this bone promotes optimism and hope. Sure, things aren't always easy, but they aren't always hard, either. Do your best to focus on the positive (while keeping a realistic eye on the not so great stuff you have to deal with.) By giving yourself a break from worry and pessimism, you are actually building up your emotional reserves. This will allow you to be more open to possibilities when they arise, and also have the energy and motivation to make the most of them.
Long Bone: Moving from Summer into Fall, the Long Bone suggests that your actions are about to show some results after a lot of work and effort. It doesn't mean you should slow down; rather, keep doing what you're doing, because it's working. You may need to change your direction to accommodate the changes on the way, but pay attention to the things in your life that are going well and the choices that you've made for the better.
Overview: Prepare for an improvement! It may not be absolutely earth-shattering, but any breathing room is appreciated. Don't let worry and doubt cloud your vision of the future; rather, allow yourself to be open to possibilities. Focus on what you've done right, and use what you've learned to keep yourself going. There's something good on the way; you just need to stay the course til you get to it.
You can order the Pocket Osteomancy divination set and book at http://thegreenwolf.com/books/pocket-osteomancy/ and you can get a Pocket Osteomancy reading at http://www.thegreenwolf.com/readings/– and yes, even if you don’t have a Paypal account you CAN use the Paypal option to pay with a debit or credit card!

⛧Threshold Protection Spell
1𝔰𝔱 ♉︎
Color of the Day : Silver
Incense of the Day : Lily
Use this spell to protect your threshold and keep negative energy from entering your front door.
You'll need :
Three cloves of garlic
Some salt
A broom
First, peel the garlic cloves and rub each one with a bit of salt. Bury the garlic near your front door. Then sprinkle a small amount of salt along your front doorstep.
Now take your broom and sweep the salt away from your home, continue to sweep the salt away from your door, off your porch, and down your front steps.
Sweep to the street if that's possible. As you sweep, say :
Protect this home, garlic and salt.
I command all negative energy to halt.
This spell is good to use after a negative person has left your home and you need to restore positive vibrations.
Repeat once a year or when you feel the need.

Sneak Preview of The Sisters Grimmoire Vol. II - Make Sure You Lock Up
'Well, let us start at once,' said he. 'Lock your door, and put the key in your pocket.'
- A Lost Paradise (The Lilac Fairy Book)
-----
Intent: To set your household wards when you lock your front door.
Materials:
Your front door key
Ideal Timing: Whenever you cast or refresh your household wards
A witchling once approached me with the following question: "How do household wards know when and when not to let people in?" My answer was simple: "You tell them the difference." This spell is one example of how to do just that. It works best when you are the homeowner, but as long as you call the place home, it should work.
Upon completion of your ritual for setting household protections, whatever that may be, take your house key and go to the front door. Place your dominant hand flat against the inside of the door, with the key between your palm and the door's surface.
Say in a strong clear voice:
This is my home And I hold the key; No one may enter Unless bidden by me.
If you feel the need, you can repeat this on other exterior doors for added security. Upon leaving your home, make sure you lock your doors and windows. The act of locking the front door from the outside with your key sets the wards until you return.
After you lock your front door, place your hand upon it and say, "No one but me." If someone else is to allowed in, include them as well, i.e. "No one but me or my spouse/roommate/parent/child/etc." Again, this will work best for people who actually live in the home, or whom you've given permission to be there in your absence.
Please note that this is not a foolproof method for deterring intruders. Take any and all mundane measures of security needed to ensure the safety of your home and its' occupants.

trick or treat! 🖤
Treat!
Cord Cutting Ritual
Tumblr media
You will need:
thread, cord, rope, string, etc (at least an arm’s length)
Scissors or a knife
A personal “taglock” string-like object: strand of hair, thread from worn clothing, hair tie, strip of fabric from an old blanket, sheet, towel, etc.
A “taglock” for what/who you are cutting free of: a photo, a gift, letter/email/message, a piece of clothing, their full name or fully written out habit. Something you’re comfortable getting rid of or destroying.
First, wrap your cord around the taglock you are trying to be rid of as best you can. Hold it briefly in your hands and think of a faucet turning on and the energy of the taglock flowing into the cord. Leave it there overnight (or for a couple hours)- NOT NEAR YOUR BED.
Sit a moment with your personal taglock. Tell it why you need this cord cutting ritual. What outcome you want. Pour that desire into it. Put your personal taglock under your pillow for the night (or a nap).
Take a moment with your personal taglock after you take it from under the pillow. Imagine it like a sweatshirt you take off. It is yours, it has your energy “scent” and signature. But it is no longer of you. It is a separate flow now. It is disconnected. It will carried your desire and message with it through the rest of the ritual.
Unwrap the cord from the negative taglock and take your personal taglock and weave, twist, or braid them together (feel free to use a third or fourth uncharged length of cord to make it a braid). Set it down for a moment and center yourself.
Pick up your scissors/knife and just hold them. Feel their weight. They are an extension of your Will. Your Power. They are stronger and sharper than the cord. Gently kiss the blade of the scissors or knife to charge them with your focused Will.
Cut the woven cord. It is a personal choice how many times to cut it. Often I go with my intuition. There are ones I’ve only cut once and there are ones I’ve cut into as many small bits as I could manage.
Burn, bury, or flush the remnants. This is not optional. Do not keep them in your house. Same with the negative taglock. Feel free to donate it to a charity shop if it was a gift/item of clothing. It isn’t inherently a problem to others.
I personally recommend a cleansing bath or shower after finishing the ritual and disposing of the ingredients.

How to Cast Spells That Work
Tumblr media
In her book Wicca for Beginners Thea Sabin says, “When you do a spell, you are telling the universe that you intend to bring about a certain change and you are putting the energy in motion to achieve that end.”
A spell is sort of an energetic shove to get things moving in the way you want them to, and we do this by creating a ritual to build and then release the energy to get things going.
Most spells are based on a principle called imitative magic.
In his book Backwoods Shamanism, Ray Hess says, “Imitative magic means that making a symbolic gesture, when combined with intent and will… can affect the intended change on a grander scale.” [Note: I don’t actually recommend this book, but I like Hess’s definition of imitative magic.]
So, for example, you may have heard of a “cord cutting” ritual, where you symbolically cut your spiritual ties to a person you no longer want to have a relationship with. You’re symbolically creating a separation between yourself and that person, which creates physical separation in real life.
Tumblr media
There are four basic components to any spell: your will, your intention, focused energy, and a ritual action. Some magical traditions add extra steps, like casting a circle, but from what I’ve read and been taught, these four basic components are constant no matter which tradition you’re following.
Let’s start with the most important bit: your will. Your will isn’t just what you want: it’s the desire and drive that is in alignment with your highest good. But in this case we’re also talking about will in the sense of willpower — Basically, your will is your personal spiritual authority and the source of your magical power.
Any spell that is not in alignment with your will won’t work. This is why it’s important to be clear about what you want and why you want it before you attempt a spell.
There’s also an element of belief here. Because magic only works when your spells are in alignment with your will, if you don’t believe your spell can work, it won’t. This is because you, yourself are blocking it from working.
The second important component of a  spell is your intention. When you do a spell, it’s important to clearly state what you want to happen. Some traditions will write the intention down on a piece of paper, which is called a petition. Other traditions will use a spoken statement of intention in the form of an incantation. Some witches use both.
You need to be clear about your intention before you begin your spell. Magic will always follow the path of least resistance, so it’s important to be specific. However, I find that magic works better when your intention leaves a little bit of wiggle room. It’s about finding that happy medium.
You also want to keep your petitions and incantations simple. If it’s more than a couple of sentences, you probably need to trim it down a little.
The next important part of a spell is focused energy. Magic is a way of directing energy, and this means that your own energy needs to be focused for it to work.
Don’t get too stressed out about focus. Your spell isn’t going to fail if your mind wanders for a few seconds. But you should set aside some time where you’ll be able to fully dedicate yourself to your spell. Try to find a private place where you won’t be interrupted. Turn off the TV, put your phone away, and try to avoid distractions. You might find that playing meditation music or burning incense helps you focus.
While you cast your spell, keep focusing on what it is you want to manifest. Again, don’t overthink this and don’t worry if your thoughts wander a little, but try to stay in the moment. Repeating your incantation can help with maintaining focus.
The last important part of a spell is your ritual action. This just means doing a specific set of things, in a specific order, with a specific intent behind them. If we go back to our definition of imitative magic, your ritual actions are symbolic of the change you want to manifest.
Your ritual actions do not have to be complex. A very common ritual for spells is anointing and lighting a candle. Making a charm or poppet is also popular. But any action can be a magical ritual if it is done with intent and focus, in alignment with your will. Making a cup of tea or coffee can be a ritual. Running a bath can be a ritual. Cooking food can be a ritual. The only limit is your imagination.
These four things are literally all you need to cast a spell. A spell doesn’t have to be complicated or include a bunch of crystals and herbs to work. You can do an effective spell with nothing but your own mind and body.
