latin/greek/classics tutoring and essay editing from your friendly neighborhood blogger

hi classics tumblr! those of you who follow me may know i'm a phd student in classics. since i'm currently on a leave of absence from my program, i'm looking to build up a private tutoring network! if you're interested in tutoring, extra help, writing feedback, or academic advice in any of the areas below, i'm your guy:

latin and ancient greek languages at all levels

classical literature in translation

topics in ancient culture, myth, and classical studies more broadly

research and writing on classics/classical studies topics (term papers, theses, undergrad and masters/mphil dissertations)

bibliographical research and reading list compilations (e.g., if you're looking to dive into a new topic but you don't know where to start reading, i can put together a list of sources)

more about my credentials and experience:

bachelors in classics, masters in classics and latin, midway through classics phd

2 years of experience as a teacher and teaching assistant in ivy league university classics courses

lots of experience tutoring in latin language (at high school, undergrad, and graduate/post-grad levels), and as a peer mentor for undergrad and masters level writing project

my research and writing interests especially lie in gender and sexuality in classics, tying contemporary theoretical frameworks to classical text (esp. queer and feminist theory), performance studies, and classical reception; i've written masters and mphil theses on those topics and would be especially excited to work with people who are learning about them.

here's what i charge:

$30-50 usd sliding scale per hour long session (held remotely via zoom)

$20/hour essay editing and bibliographical services

all sessions will be held remotely by default, but if you happen to live in the nyc area and would strongly prefer an in person session, let me know and it may be possible! my time zone is est, but i have a lot of flexibility if you're far afield from there. if you're interested in any of the above (or know someone who might be!), please reach out via this form and i'll be in contact asap!
