Paige Browning was excited.
It had been a long week on the cruise for her. She had finally gotten through her business with Trent, signing the divorce papers to annul their “marriage.” Why didn’t I learn Greek from Leo while I was dating him? She wondered, kicking herself for not being suspicious of her ex-fiancée.
Then there was dumping Leo and William. Both of them were understanding about her decision to decide to tie the knot with Dean. Leo, as graceful as ever, gave her a parting gift – honorary Cordonian citizenship for both herself and her bartender fiancée – so that Paige could see him again. William had the same thought of giving her a parting gift, but his was a bit more poetic in her eyes: a self-care package. He knew how busy she was with her family, and he and Leo wanted nothing but the best for their friend because she would have done the same for them.
She appreciated them both deeply.
Finally, there was dealing with both the wedding she was preparing for and helping her family as the summer started its last month. She was helping Jess prepare for life as a mother, making sure that Nicole was still tending to her list of things their grandmother wanted her to do for her portion of the inheritance, checking in with Adam and Elena, and making sure her aunt Mallory was out of the picture while trying to keep Violet out of her grasp.
If all went well, all five of them would get their inheritance, and Aunt Mallory wouldn’t be getting a cent.
Dressed in light beachwear, Paige made her way barefoot across the sands of one of the beautiful local beaches in Cordonia. She had only broken up with Leo mere hours before this trek, and she was about to have a nice sunset picnic with Dean before nightfall.
Up on a high, flat boulder that looked very much like a plateau from where Paige was standing, Dean was sitting on a quilt that his sister made for him. He held a thermos in his hand, a matching thermos by his side as well as a picnic basket and a cooler.
Paige slowly made her way up the side of the rock with the ladder that Dean had left there for her to climb up easily, moving her braid behind her when she reached the top. “You’re making me work for my meal, aren’t you?”
Dean turned to face her and laughed. “If I was making you work for your dinner, I wouldn’t have put the ladder there.”
“Touché, my love.” Paige positioned herself comfortably next to him before kissing him sweetly. “What drink is in the thermoses for tonight’s outing?”
“Coffee with Irish cream. Figured you might need it after breaking up with that lovely prince of yours.”
Paige smiled and rolled her eyes. “He was actually very understanding about it. He even made us honorary Cordonian citizens, so there aren’t any hard feelings.”
Dean opened his thermos and held it out for them to toast. “To Leo.”
“To Leo.” Paige knocked her thermos against his, and they both took a swig of the smooth drinks in their covered cups.
A picture fell out of Dean’s denim pocket after he set his thermos back down, and his fiancée immediately noticed it. He didn’t seem to notice it fall, however. As he went through the basket, she reached for it.
Once she got her hands on it, she quietly looked at the slightly faded photograph that was somewhat flapping in the ocean breeze. She recognized Elsie, Dean’s younger sister, as she stood next to Dean in the foreground photo. The other person in the picture was not familiar to Paige, as were most of the people that were in the blurry background.
“So…” Paige began to break their silence, “what’s the story behind this picture?”
Dean looked over and his eyes widened a bit. “Oh God, sorry, I didn’t realize that picture fell out of my pocket.”
“It’s okay, but now I’m curious.” She handed the picture back to him, waiting patiently for him to recount a story she was sure was coming.
“Well, this is a photo from our family reunion that we had at about this time last year. You remember my sister Elsie, I’m sure.”
Paige nodded and smiled at him. “Who’s the boy beside you?”
Dean smiled, his face lit up with nostalgia. “That’s my younger cousin, Wes. He lives in New York City. His brother got put into jail… so we’ve been paying for his trailer since then. I miss him.”
“I’ll have to meet him one day.”
The bartender kissed Paige’s cheek. “One day, we will.” He looked out at the sunset for a moment as he tucked the picture back into his pocket. “We should eat before the food gets too cold.”
Paige nodded in agreement as she held up her thermos for a toast. “To a new chapter in our lives – one beyond the borders of the sea.”
Dean grinned as they clinked cups again. “To a new chapter.” He took out a few homemade submarine sandwiches. “Now, dig in!”

Coffee Stained Hearts
Written by Atlas (atlaslopes) Game: The Freshman
Genre/s: humor, romance Ship/s: Chris/Zig Warning(s): none! Word Count: 785 words
Summary: Zig hates closing up the coffee shop at the end of his night shifts now that he’s staying with Alan and his buddies. When Chris shows up right around closing time one night, Zig finds a nice detour from going back home – and something much more worthwhile along the way.
Author’s note: So I’m considering this a personal #ChoicesCreates entry, considering that I haven’t done any of these prompts yet. I’ll be doing a chain of some of these to try to catch up on the ones that I want to do. I’m gonna start with the very first prompt that @hollyashton made for #ChoicesCreates: “My heart finally told me to stop wasting my time.” Enjoy!

Zig couldn’t believe his awful luck.
When he finally enrolled at Hartfeld University at his friends’ suggestion, he thought he’d be treated better than he was now. He was stuck with roommates that were anything but respectful, he was given night shifts since he started work at the coffee shop by campus again, and he felt a disconnect between his friends that helped get him here.
He had to close and lock up the coffee shop tonight, which… needless to say, he wasn’t exactly fond of either.
And on top of that, rain was pounding down on the roof.
Great…
Zig groaned, watching the rain completely soak the glass of the windows and obscure the clear picture that was viewed clearly through it at the beginning of his shift. He wiped down the gleaming laminated wooden countertop, shaking his head at himself as the coffee joint was currently empty. He sighed, glancing up at the clock – 8:55, five minutes before closing for a Sunday night before classes.
He was sure they would turn into the longest five minutes all weekend.
That’s when the door opens up.
Zig growled in aggravation – “Why is a customer here five minutes before I have to leave?”, he wondered – until he saw the person that stood at the door.
Chris Powell, one of his friends and one of the key people that got him to enroll at Hartfeld in the first place, was breathing heavily as he leaned against the wall as his clothes were completely drenched.
And Zig thought it was the cutest he’d ever seen Chris.
The barista fought off his initial thoughts for a moment and laughed. “Better get off the wall or you’ll cause water damage.”
Chris looked up and realized who was behind the counter, eyes going wide with a broad smile. “Oh hey! I just- I just completely embarrassed myself…” He chuckled awkwardly and rubbed his neck.
Zig shook his head for the second time in the past hour, this time being amused by how timid Chris seemed to be getting, making the barista just that much more attentive. “What the hell are you doing walking in the pouring rain?”
“Oh, I actually parked my car on this block earlier. I had a student council meeting this afternoon and a study session right after that for Economics.”
“Yikes… Busy day then.” Zig tossed the used rag into a bucket before sliding off his apron. “Why’d you park way out in the boonies away from the library then?”
Chris shrugged. “I knew you were working tonight, so I just figured I’d meet you up, is all. Just didn’t count on all this rain…”
Zig could tell that Chris was hiding something; his body language gave it away. He grinned, sauntering out from behind the counter and grabbing his leather jacket. “D’you do this on purpose?” He checked the younger student out and his half-smile turned into a broad grin. “You seem a little excited to see me, Chris.”
Laughed awkwardly, Chris blushed. “Well, if you really wanna know…” He went over to Zig, placing a hand on each of the taller student’s firm arms. “My heart finally told me to stop wasting my time and make my move.”
“Bring it on.”
Zig could have sworn there was a fire in Chris’s eyes as the brunet suddenly sprang up on the front of his feet and kissed him softly.
In turn, arms wrapped around waists and hugged against ribs, and both of them stayed in this gentle embrace for a moment as their lips connected.
After this long-cherished moment, their lips come apart.
Chris was the first to speak out of the two of them, a bright smile on his face. “That was… That felt amazing.”
Zig smiled back. “I couldn’t agree with you more.”
Hearing the rain pour down outside, Chris moved his arms so they circled around Zig’s neck. “I can give you a ride, if you want. Your bike’s gotta be drenched by now, and I brought my truck with me as well as my other car.”
Considering his options but ultimately knowing what he really wanted, Zig nodded once. “Works for me, as long as you play some classic rock in the car.
“Deal.”
Zig picked up his jacket, tossing it over to Chris and grinning as he grabbed his work keys and made sure everything was turned off behind the counter. “For being such a helping hand, you get to keep that.”
Chris smiled warmly, a tint of pink on his cheeks before they turned red as Zig kissed his cheek.
The two finally leaving the coffee shop, Zig’s grin never faded. Maybe closing time wasn’t so bad now after all.

Hey there, PB fandom!
My name is Atlas, and this is my contribution to the fandom! Some of you might recognize me from my main blog, atlaslopes. I used to run this blog -- this is a revival of it, but now including stories for Choices: Stories You Play! My personal face claim for this blog will be one of my favorite actors: Darren Criss.
Tumblr media
My lovely girlfriend Bree (whose main is over on this blog) will also be running the show with me over here! She’s a little shy but she’ll be lurking around for sure! Her face claim is going to be the beautiful Amber Riley.
Tumblr media
So basically, here’s how this blog works: you guys can submit stories to this blog as either a link to a site like fanfiction.net, or as a text post for Tumblr! We’ll also probably be reblogging stories from other people’s Tumblr blogs because there’s a bunch of stuff out in the fandom tags already that are really good!
Bree and I will be writing stuff to this blog as well, so expect to see quite a bit of stuff from us!
There’s a rules page and an FAQ page for you guys to check out before you guys can start submitting stories to us! And if you have any other questions, just let us know!
Much love,
~ Admins Atlas and Bree
(PS: If any of the other mods from the old blog are still in the fandom and want to co-admin this blog, then just hit us up here!)
