I really love this transition shot so much. It looks like Hunter is trying so hard to do a good job and be a good boy... while Willow is being a little imp and flirting right in his ear. I imagine this happens a lot with these two.

Why Amity is so important to Luz.
I've seen lots of posts and fanfiction that talk about how Luz is so important to Amity because she was the first person to really be nice to her since Willow and show her such unconditional kindness and support but I feel like something that's not talked about is how important Amity is to Luz.
Remember, before coming to the isles, Luz was probably much more lonely than let on. As her mother pointed out, she doesn't really have any friends. Everyone things she's a weirdo and avoids her. Even her own mom is sending her away due to being too weird and due to her job probably didnât have super huge amounts of time to spend with her. So she was probably alone more often than not. That's why the friends she makes in the Boiling Isles- Eda, King, Willow, Gus, and yes, Amity- are so important to her. Its not just that they're these amazing magical people. Its because they're probably the first friends she's had in her entire life. The first people she isn't too weird for. I feel like this quote from Naruto sums it up well.
"They saved me from myself, they rescued me from my loneliness, they were the first to accept me as who I am. They're my friends."
So yeah, Luz's friends are insanely important to her but Amity is especially important. And not just in a Lumity sense.
Amity is the first person Luz met who she starts to see some of herself in. They might not seem that similar at first but I bet Luz slowly notices it. The Azura books, the fan art, the interest in learning magic. Luz comes to realize that she and Amity share a lot of interests and it no doubt makes her want to befriend her because Luz has never had that. Back on Earth everyone thought her interests were weird or didn't want to talk about them. But with Amity, Luz sees someone who shares her weirdness. Someone that would actually have an interest in the same things she likes and it draws her to Amity because having a friend like that is no doubt something Luz has dreamed of since she was really little.
And if you want to talk about it in Lumity context, its important because Luz has a partner who wouldn't judge her hobbies or likes. Someone who would enjoy hearing her AMVs or listening to her informing about her books or theorize about the next book in the series. She fell for someone who doesn't care how weird she is because deep down she's a little weird herself. She has that person who she'll never be too weird or too much for.
Amity falls for Luz because she shows her kindness and unconditional love that she's never had before while Luz would fall for Amity because she's the kind of companionship and acceptance that she's never had before. They both act as the thing the other has been wanting most in their lives.

I feel so sorry for Amity here. Luz is destroying the Tunnel of Love and Amity feels it is a reflection on her and how Luz feels about her. I mean not long after you have the dialogue;
Luz: Amity wait. This wasnât me. This was all Hootyâs stupid idea.
Amity: Yeah, this was stupid. I mean us dating, thatâs stupid right?
I know it all works out in the end but I just feel so sorry for her in this scene. I mean I canât help but feel like this is a reflection of how Amity feels about herself. Like she is somehow unworthy of love so why would Luz ever love her, so when Luz starts acting the way she does in the Tunnel of Love, Amityâs mind jumps to the worst case scenario; That Luz doesnât love her, that the girl she loves doesnât feel the same way back, that she is unloveable.
Assuming we get that far seasons wise and Lumity lasts that long, I feel like on their 1 year anniversary Luz should recreate the Tunnel of Love with Hootyâs help but this time not destroy it so Amity can truly enjoy it. I mean before Luz started destroying it, just look at Amityâs face.
I think having the Tunnel of Love recreated for their 1 year anniversary would mean the world to Amity đ
