Some stuff! Kaine finally got his new vest in. His patches came last week. I've got a dual handled leash coming soon, and a big pram carabiner on the way as well. We're on our way to getting back out there!

I saw this on my dash and figured I’d add a personal experience here?

Kaine is like this, he’s extremely irritated by other dogs that give him attitude, despite socialization. I’ve heard it’s common in shepherds, but Nonetheless, like DoberButts said, any kind of reactivity while working can’t be tolerated.

I was in a Cal-Ranch store by my house with Kaine maybe 10 or so months ago, after working on a positive reinforcement method to keep him calm around other dogs, but the issue was that there was another dog(non SD) in the store. As soon as the dog saw Kaine, it absolutely lost it, tugging and pulling at him. 

I could tell just by the way Kaine was moving that it was beginning to bother him, that despite the training we’d gone through, he was fighting against reacting to it.

So what did we do? We left, and I didn’t take him out for another four months until I was certain that he had control over his feelings.

It can be hard, I think the whole training with Kaine was one of the most difficult things we’ve worked on because his dislike was so strong, but it is insanely rewarding when it pays off.

Mobility anon again. After thinking about it after reading your response, I think he may just not like rude behavior. He doesn't actively seek out other dogs to start conflict, but if another dog makes an action at him, then he reacts to it

No matter what the trigger, it’s not appropriate for a dog that reacts like that to be in public access. You either will need to work with him and a professional trainer in order to curb his reaction and teach him to keep his opinions to himself, or wash him.

Your dog may not react to other dogs while in public, point blank. Doesn’t matter what the justification is. You either need to teach him to not, or, if that isn’t possible, not use him. There’s a reason I pulled Creed and considered washing him until we had a handle on it.

I don't think people should buy their young children dogs to "teach responsibility ", and proceed to then do all the work for said animal, thus teaching their children nothing
