I finally started a TBR jar mug! So far I’ve only added 48/520 of my owned tbr, using books from my bookcase and bookcart. As I have so many books and forget the many places I store them, I’m going to be colour coding them so I know where the book can be found once I pick it out!

Ebook prices are wild. Why am I covering the cost of a paperback or even a hardback for you to essentially send me a PDF? You already had it before the physical book even went to print like pls

Honestly? My main piece of advice for writing well-rounded characters is to make them a little bit lame. No real living person is 100% cool and suave 100% of the time. Everyone's a little awkward sometimes, or gets too excited about something goofy, or has a silly fear, or laughs about stupid things. Being a bit of a loser is an incurable part of the human condition. Utilize that in your writing.

Rereading TCP and do you - do you realize Jude absolutely does not have fun with anyone except for Cardan? She’s always on guard, all the time, but when she’s with Cardan she has fun. Even when she thinks he’s abhorrent she still thinks he’s fun. She has not described any other character in that specific way, even characters she love. She also admits it’s one of the reasons she falls for him.

Friendly reminder that when Nicasia betrayed Cardan by cheating on him - a very hurtful act, mind you - he got over her like 🫰 that. He did mull over the betrayal but Nicasia herself? Yeah, no, he was done with that. But when Jude left him, at his own behest, after she’d betrayed him herself, he couldn’t stop moping after her and stayed LOYAL (!!) to her for months, without even knowing if she was ever coming back.
