"I'll be damned," Sam breathed, laughing a little.  "That's incredible."  She crossed her arms and looked him over curiously.  "So what happened to the car?" she asked curiously.
“Sam! I’ve been looking everywhere for you,” Baby said with a smile.

Sam glanced back at the girl in the picture.  "Well, at least you've seen her, I guess.  That was before she went missing, but it's better than nothing," she assured her.  Sam groaned in frustration, wishing Dean was working this case too.  Wishing Dean hadn't benched her just because of a little blood, a little dizziness.  Nothing she couldn't handle.
"Well, thanks for your help, anyway," she said.  "Do you have any idea who I might should talk to?"

Sam smiled slightly, trying to assuage the woman’s worry.  This was probably not going to turn anything up, but Sam was getting more than just a little desperate to get this case wrapped up.  ”Um, if you wouldn’t mind looking through the women in this file, I would appreciate it.”
“If you have seen any of them within the last three to five days, let me know.  The five of them are missing, and I’m trying to find them.”

Sam smiled, nodding briefly.  "Yeah, this isn't my first job," she assured the woman.  "I typically know how to deal with this stuff."  She got up.  "Well, thanks for your help.  I'll go check it out."

“She’s been missing for two and a half days,” Sam responded.  ”Along with four other women around her age,” she said.  ”I’m just trying to find them alive,” she said.  The investigation was going poorly, she was frustrated to admit.

"Nice to meet you, Nette."  She ran a hand through her hair again.  "I haven't looked there.  I don't know much about the town," she said.  "I'm going to have to go check those out, then."

"I'm not sure freak accidents work that way, Dean," she reminded him with a laugh.  "I'm gonna try and cook tonight though.  Do you have any requests?" she asked, filling her glass again and closing her eyes briefly.  "I'll try and keep it as close to here as possible.  I'm not terribly excited about staying in a crappy motel again."

Sam nodded slowly, listening along.  She wasn’t going to push anything.  ”I get it,” she agreed, filling up his glass and then hers.  She crossed her legs and sighed.  ”Well, if it makes you feel better, just remember that the woman I spent the last year with left me to go back to her presumably dead husband,” she reminded him with a weak laugh.
“Yeah we are a pair Sam.” Dean shrugs and sips on his whiskey. “Least we have one another.” Dean tells her looking over at her. Sam and him had been through so much together, Dean just hoped his little sister wasn’t lying to him, that she was alright, even though Cas had said the trials were not doing her any good.

The investigation was not going anywhere near as well as Sam would have liked.  She and Dean were working separately.  Technically, she was supposed to be holed up in the batcave until she recovered from the last trial, but Sam wasn’t stupid.  She knew she was getting worse, not better.
None of the leads were turning up anything interesting.  Sam just knew that more and more people were going missing.  She sat down, now, across from a woman in a cafe.  ”Sorry to bother you, but I need to ask you a few questions,” she said.  ”My name is Samantha Perry with the FBI.”

Sam nodded along.  "Yeah, we're both pretty damaged, aren't we?" she agreed, smiling a little as she sat her glass down.  "Good talk," she said.  "Wouldn't want you to strain anything talking about anymore feelings."  She slung an arm around his shoulders and hugged him lightly.  "Do you wanna look for a new case tomorrow?" she asked.

“Agent Smith with the FBI,” Sam introduced, flashing her ID quickly.  ”I’ve got a couple questions about the local disappearances   Do you have a few minutes?”

"I appreciate it, Charles.  Uh-I'm going to write down my phone number. If you come across anything weird at all, please let me know.  Or see any of those women.  It's very important."

"Thanks," Sam said, walking in quickly.  She glanced around the room and sat down slowly.  "Did you know a Miss Janet Blair?" she asked, pulling out a photo.

Sam absolutely did not smirk at that.  It wasn't something to laugh at.  "I didn't care if you talked about Cas or not.  I just thought you should talk about something," she said quietly.  She nodded.  "I worry about him too," she added. "I know you and Cas are different.  Closer or whatever.  But you can talk to me about it.  Tell me about it."
