Lack of posts
Hi
Sorry for the lack of Monthly posts and gaming realated content. During and continuing through this pandemic we have been playing alot of Magic the Gathering Commander as our usual weekly and monthly gaming groups have had to be suspended. But i have still been keeping a track of the other games we have played and I will be posting these next week so keep a look out.
Hopefully in the new year things will pick up and we can get back to gaming.
Take care everyone, stay safe and a Merry Christmas
Love the Girl Who Board Games

Brass Lancashire. Being a Yorkshire Lass I shouldn’t be playing this game, but it is ok because they have put Yorkshire on there as a square. Played this as a two player game and really enjoyed it. #twocanplaythatgame #thegirlwhogames #boardgames #brasslancashire #gaming #tilegames #sundaygaming https://www.instagram.com/p/CCCS9Hnh1Q0/?igshid=l4ywvmw9ic4v

Century: Spice Road Second Chance Carcassonne Twice as Clever Octodice Architects of the West Kingdom Quacks of Quedlinburg
Game of the Month: Second Chance
We bought Second Chance at UK Games Expo last year and this was only the second time we have played it, I guess you could say we were giving it a Second Chance…. See what I did there.
Anyway this game was one of the many Roll and Write games we bought at Expo. If you like Tetris then you are going to love this game.
You each have a blank square grid then each in turn two cards are revealed from the stack, each card has a Tetris style shape on them, you then have to draw one of these shapes in your grid, trying to fill as much of the square as possible. If you can't put the shape into your square then you get a Second Chance to draw another card, if this shape can't be placed then you are out of the game.
Unlike Tetris there are only a certain number of each shape so you have to be careful when placing your shapes and trying to remember if certain shapes have already been revealed.
In Second Chance, each player starts with a 9×9 grid that they want to fill as completely as possible. To begin the game, everyone receives a different card with a starting tile and marks off its spaces on their grid. Every turn, two puzzle tile cards are revealed, and each player chooses one of them, then marks off squares on their personal grid that match the shape of the image shown on their chosen card. Multiple players can choose the same card. If a player cannot fit either revealed shape into their grid, they get a second chance and reveal one card from the deck just for them. If they can fit this shape in their grid, they do continue normally next round; otherwise they are eliminated from play. The game ends when all players have been eliminated, the deck of puzzle cards has run out, or a player has completely filled their grid. If someone has filled their grid, they win. If all players have been eliminated or the deck ran out of cards, then whoever has the fewest empty spaces wins.

Ecos: First Continent Magic The Gathering - Commander New Frontiers Roll for the Galaxy Wingspan
Game of the Month: Ecos: First Continent
This is the only new game that we played this month. It's a game that we have been looking to play for a few weeks now so it was fortunate that a member of our Tuesday night gaming group had purchased it. We compared it to a mix of Terraforming Mars and Bingo. In the terms that you have your own cards that you put cubes on then you can use the card a number of times depending on if you complete the requirements. This then enables you to place things on the Continent. The bingo element is that a person draws tokens from a bag and depending on what is drawn you can play cubes on your cards, like crossing off numbers in Bingo.
I really liked this game even though I wasn't that good at it. Any game that included animals is good for me. I would like to play it again to see if I can fit a strategy into it.
What if the formation of Earth had gone differently? In Ecos: First Continent, players are forces of nature moulding the planet, but with competing visions of its grandeur. You have the chance to create a part of the world, similar but different to the one we know. Which landscapes, habitats, and species thrive will be up to you. Gameplay in Ecos is simultaneous. Each round, one player reveals element tokens from the element bag, giving all players the opportunity to complete a card from their tableau and shape the continent to their own purpose. Elements that cannot be used can be converted into energy cubes or additional cards in hand or they can be added to your tableau to give you greater options as the game evolves. Mountain ranges, jungle, rivers, seas, islands and savanna, each with their own fauna, all lie within the scope of the players' options.

Marvel Champions: Green Goblin Scenario

Game of the Month: Clank! Legacy
As mentioned in last months post this month’s Game of the Month goes to Clank! Legacy.
We have played Clank the regular version of the desk builder game and really liked it, plus we are a sucker for a legacy game so it was a no brainer to get this. As we were both off work over the Christmas break we decided that we would play a game a day. We fought Goblins, found treasure and created our own adventure as staff members of Acquisitions Incorporated. Without giving too much away, this is a great legacy game and one of my favourites, plus you have a unique board that is just created for you, which you can play after you have finished the campaign.
Clank! Legacy: Acquisitions Incorporated extends the deck-building fun of Clank! with legacy-style gameplay! Found your own franchise of the legendary adventuring company Acquisitions Incorporated, and shepherd your fledgling treasure-hunters to immortal corporate glory over the course of multiple games. Your game board, your deck, and your world change as you play to create a unique campaign tailored to your adventuring party. Be cunning, be bold, and most importantly be ready…
Note: Following on from last Game of the Month, Quacks of Quedlinburg we have since bought the nice shiny tokens from Board Game Geek Extras. These are so pretty and will last a lot longer than the cardboard token we have also purchased the expansion.
