Sorry but fuck 8x04, post-battle Arya lurking alone in the shadows practicing shooting rather than going to the feast, because that’s her version of “celebrating”. That’s the last thing book!Arya would be doing.

Real Arya, would be everywhere at the feast. She’d be drinking with Brienne, Pod and Jaime; she’d be matching Tormund and Tyrion joke for joke; reassuring what’s left of the Brotherhood that Beric died for his god; hearing stories from Grey Worm and Missendei about Essos; gushing over Dany because ‘you rode a fucking dragon!’; sitting with Bran (also real, book!Bran) hearing his part in the battle; making out with Gendry not in some dark passage but in full view of everyone, ignoring Sansa’s frown and his blushing; she’d be having her hair mussed by Jon, squeezing him close and thanking every god that she got to the NK at that exact moment and not a second later. She’d be celebrating with her pack because that’s who Arya is.

And everyone would be celebrating her: The hero of Winterfell, She-Wolf of the North; bringer of the light, Queen of the Dawn. Properly celebrating, not just one announcement from Dany. And think how much that would mean to her – the girl who was once Arya Horseface, who believed she was worthless because she wasn’t a proper lady, who idolized unconventional heroines like Nymeria, Rhaenys and Visenya – knowing that she would go down in those history books beside and greater than any of them.

So fuck D&D for thinking all Arya can do is fight and train and kill – Arya Stark is so much more than that.
