“My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭62:5-8‬ ‭⛰ This is the prayer of David that touched God’s heart. David says, “Wait on God only. Expect help from no other source. He alone must be your source, your only hope and defense. Only He can supply you with the strength to keep going until your answer comes.” When you become wholly dependent on the Lord alone—when you stop looking for man to help you and trust God to supernaturally meet you—nothing will be able to shake you. Nothing can move you into depression and pits of despair. David declared, “He is my defense; I shall not be moved” (Psalm 62:6). Now comes the heart of it all, the secret to prevailing prayer that every saint throughout history has learned—the pouring out of the heart before the Lord. “Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us” (Psalm 62:8). God will hear and answer you when He sees you are willing to shut off all outer distractions for a season, pour your heart out before Him and trust that He will respond Excerpt from: "God Is Faithful: A Daily Invitation into the Father Heart of God" by David Wilkerson. 📷gautiersalles #christiandevotional #psalm62 #godismyrefuge #trustinggod #godismyhealer #godrestores #yhvhishisname #davidwilkerson #godisfaithful #godhears #instaprayer #walkbyfaithnotbysight https://www.instagram.com/p/B0BFjP7FRnU/?igshid=4nia0ifmfq6i

““Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:28-30‬ ‭👣👣👣🌾🐚🌊 In contrast to the yoke that the rabbis were laying upon people's shoulders without any intention to help them lighten the load, Yeshua identifies His yoke as "easy" (chrestos); that is, "kind" and His burden as "light" (elaphros), that is, "not a burden." His yoke was "kind" in that it gave "mercy" and "love" equal significance with "righteousness" and "justice." His burden was "light" because He had unwrapped the teaching of God, the Torah, from all the man-made extras. Therefore it was able to penetrate the heart with chesed v'emet, loving kindness and truth. Yoked together with Him, the Torah was as sweet as honey and the joy of one's heart. Under this kind and gentle yoke, Yeshua intended even the smallest stroke of the Torah and the Prophets to be fulfilled in the lives of His followers. As necessary as zeal is in life, it must be tempered with wisdom. Untempered zeal leads to painful situations that are difficult and even sometimes impossible to repair. We cannot lead the Holy Spirit. We must allow the Holy Spirit to lead us. He is not a child we take by the hand and drag along after us as we accomplish our own agendas while we demand his obligatory blessing. This world is most excellent at enticing us to rush through life, but if we slow down and take a beat to hear how the Spirit desires to counsel us, we will find a startling distinction between His timing and our own. We must recognize the urge to do things on our time as the selfish and controlling spirit that it is. Take time to ponder so you don’t squander the gifts you’ve been given and season you are in. Time was given to us for our benefit. Scripture is clear that God is not constrained by time yet it is also clear that He has laid out very specific directives for how He desires us to operate within time. We don’t know how many grains of sand is in each of our hourglasses, but we must be diligent to use each one to further the work of His kingdom, to be a blessing and not a thorn to others. The wisdom with which we exercise our zeal directly impacts other people’s lives and that is something we dare not consider lightly. #proverbs19 #hastemakeswaste #dontbehasty #bethoughtful #consequences #slowdown #thinkaboutitthursday #relationshipadvice #holyspirit #wisecounsel #goodsteward #proverbs #wisdom https://www.instagram.com/p/BzxnuWflE6w/?igshid=qhdwxkguuaym

“Oh, what joy for those whose disobedience is forgiven, whose sin is put out of sight! Yes, what joy for those whose record the Lord has cleared of guilt, whose lives are lived in complete honesty! When I refused to confess my sin, my body wasted away, and I groaned all day long. Day and night your hand of discipline was heavy on me. My strength evaporated like water in the summer heat. Selah Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone. Selah Therefore, let all the godly pray to you while there is still time, that they may not drown in the floodwaters of judgment. For you are my hiding place; you protect me from trouble. You surround me with songs of victory. Selah The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. Do not be like a senseless horse or mule that needs a bit and bridle to keep it under control.” Many sorrows come to the wicked, but unfailing love surrounds those who trust the Lord. So rejoice in the Lord and be glad, all you who obey him! Shout for joy, all you whose hearts are pure!” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭32:1-11‬ ‭ #forgiven #forgivenessisfreedom #psalm32 #wherethespiritofthelordisthereisfreedom #freetoobey #noguiltinlifenofearindeath #somethingtosingabout #rejoiceinthelord #godforgives #justifiedbyfaith #teshuvah #repentance https://www.instagram.com/p/BzncZKvl0DW/?igshid=h0kf5mzksj5x

The Bible tells us Abraham “waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God” (Hebrews 11:10). To Abraham, nothing in this life was permanent. Scripture says the world was “a strange place” to him, definitely not a place to put down roots. The Greek word for this phrase, “heavenly country” in verse 14 comes from a root word meaning “Father.” So the heavenly country Abraham sought was, literally, a place where he would be with the Father. Yet, Abraham was no mystic. He was not an ascetic who put on holy airs and lived in a spiritual haze. This man lived an earthly life, heavily involved in the world’s affairs. After all, he was the owner of thousands of head of livestock, and he had enough servants to form a small militia. Abraham had to be a busy man, directing his servants and buying and selling his cattle, sheep and goats. Yet, somehow, despite his many business affairs and responsibilities, Abraham found time for intimacy with the Lord. Do you have that kind of intimacy with the Lord—the kind where He calls you “My friend”? It can be yours. The good shepherd “leads me”; he does not “drive me.” There is a marked difference. In Egypt where there is no open pasture land I have often seen shepherds driving their sheep from behind with sticks. But in the open wilderness of the Holy Land the shepherd walks slowly ahead of his sheep and either plays his own ten-second tune on a pipe or (more often) sings his own unique “call.” The sheep appear to be attracted primarily by the voice of the shepherd, which they know and are eager to follow. It is common practice for a number of shepherds to gather at midday around a spring or well, where the sheep mingle, drink and rest. At any time one of the shepherds can decide to leave, and on giving his call all his sheep will immediately separate themselves from the mixed flocks and follow their shepherd wherever he leads them Excerpt from: "The Good Shepherd: A Thousand-Year Journey from Psalm 23 to the New Testament" by Kenneth E. Bailey. “During the riots in Palestine in the middle thirties a village near Haifa was condemned to collective punishment by having its sheep and cattle sequestrated by the Government. The inhabitants however were permitted to redeem their possessions at a fixed price. Among them was an orphan shepherd boy, whose six or eight sheep and goats were all he had in the world for life and work. Somehow he obtained the money for their redemption. He went to the big enclosure where the animals were penned, offering his money to the British sergeant in charge. The N.C.O. told him he was welcome to the requisite number of animals, but ridiculed the idea that he could possibly pick out his “little flock” from among the confiscated hundreds. The little shepherd thought differently, because he knew better; and giving his own “call”, for he had his nai (shepherd’s pipe) with him, “his own” separated from the rest of the animals and trotted out after him. “I am the Good Shepherd and know my sheep—and am known of mine.” Eric F. “But we do [strongly and earnestly] desire for each of you to show the same diligence and sincerity [all the way through] in realizing and enjoying the full assurance and development of [your] hope until the end, In order that you may not grow disinterested and become [spiritual] sluggards, but imitators, behaving as do those who through faith (by their leaning of the entire personality on God in Christ in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness) and by practice of patient endurance and waiting are [now] inheriting the promises.” ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭6:11-12‬ ‭🔲🔳🔲 They (heroes of faith) are calling to us from the heights that they have won, and telling us that what man once did man can do again. YHVH IS MY PROVIDER
YHVH IS MY PROVIDER
“And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Yeshua the Messiah.”
Philippians 4:19 🤲🏼
Yah is our provider. He is our source. This is a lesson we are given daily, weekly, monthly bc unfortunately we tend to forget this essential truth, and in forgetting we open ourselves up to discouragement, frustration, stress, and…

The parable exhibits two types of sin. One is the sin of the law-breaker and the other the sin of the law-keeper. Each centers on a broken relationship. One breaks that relationship while failing to fulfill the expectations of the family and society. The second breaks his relationship while fulfilling those same expectations. Excerpt from: "The Cross and the Prodigal: Luke 15 Through the Eyes of Middle Eastern Peasants" by Kenneth E. Bailey. This weekend I read #thecross and #theprodigal by #kennethebailey and had to recommend it to you. It was an excellent, excellent read. The author is very succinct, so it was a quick and engrossing read. I read it on Scribd but ordered a paperback so I can loan it to family and friends to read bc it is just so good. I can not recommend it highly enough. You won’t be able to put this book down! It grabs you from the introduction and doesn’t let go after the last page is down. I’m ready to re-read it now! #christianbookreview #christianbookrecommendations #luke15 #messianicmondays #morningdevotional #messianicbeliever #contextmatters #culturalperspective #parables https://www.instagram.com/p/ByhwPbHFBh6/?igshid=1ifdjjcf652df

Walking in God’s glory means not only that we receive the Father’s love, but that we love Him back as well. It is about mutual affection, both giving and receiving love. “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength” (Deuteronomy 6:5). God says in Proverbs, “My son, give me your heart” (Proverbs 23:26). His love demands that we reciprocate, that we return to Him a love that is total, undivided, requiring all our heart, soul, mind and strength. Yet the Lord tells us in no uncertain terms, “You cannot earn My love. The love I give to you is unmerited.” John writes, “In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins,” and, “We love Him because He first loved us” (1 John 4:10, 19). Just as God’s love for us is marked by rest and rejoicing, so our love for Him must have these same two elements: 1.David expresses a rest in his love for God when he writes, “Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You” (Psalm 73:25). The heart that loves the Lord finds full contentment in Him. God’s loving-kindness is better than life itself. 2.Such a heart also rejoices in its love for God. The witness of the Church is most effective when she declares rather than explains, for the gospel is addressed not to reason but to faith. What can be proved requires no faith to accept. Faith rests upon the character of God, not upon the demonstrations of laboratory or logic. #awtozer #thatincrediblechristian #tozertuesday #faithquotes https://www.instagram.com/p/ByUA6TLFzvg/?igshid=1vzf11bnbip5l

The story is told of a boy whose parents took him to Florida to spend the winter. He returned to his city home, disgusted with the country he had been in. It was dull, stupid, and uninteresting, he said. During the next few months, however, he was in charge of a tutor who was an enthusiastic botanist, and he kindled the boy’s interest in his favorite study. The boy learned about orchids, and their strange life. His tutor took him to a conservatory that he might see some of them growing. “You should see them in Florida,” the tutor said, “they are much better there; but these will give you an idea.” The boy looked at him in amazement. “I have been in Florida,” he said, “but I never noticed any of them.” “Perhaps you did not look for them,” the tutor answered; “but they will not escape you the next time.” That is often the way with the Bible. A person sees no beauty in it, but the Holy Spirit is ready to open the eyes of our understanding and teach us. It may be by some sermon or book which will lift a truth out of its hiding-place, and give it an application to our life it never had before. Excerpt from: "Moody's Anecdotes" by Dwight L. Moody. #proverbs #moodymondays #dlmoody #morningdevotional #holyspirit #biblestudy https://www.instagram.com/p/ByP3FC8l2Qc/?igshid=12j3x2v2jktf9
