The moment of departure has finally arrived because it has been getting too darn hot to camp in my van in the Coachella Valley as of late. It's hot and getting hotter. Time to briefly reflect on my exploits here in the desert from November '23 to the present moment before I hit the road. What a time I had, I can't say enough good things about the desert aesthetic and desert living. Being here in the Coachella Valley was a centering and healing experience. All things must pass though and it's time to settle into the present moment, collapse into now, as I return to the LA area where things will be significantly cooler for the spring and summer months. If all goes well I will get my butt right back here the moment things cool down. See you later desert, I'll be thinking of ya every day. (4/16/24)

4/12/24 - I have really tried to ride out some of the recent hot days here in the Coachella Valley but it's been tough. I'm camping in my van as usual and though I use window shields to keep the sun from completely reducing me to sweat it still gets really hot. Luckily the evenings have been cool but that's going to change soon. And so...come Tuesday evening I will depart from the desert back to areas adjacent to LA until things cool off in Coachella Valley later in the year. It's been quite a ride, I really enjoyed this particular run that I've had here in the desert (November 20, 2023 to April 16, 2024). I'm thankful for every day I get to hang out in the Coachella Valley desert areas and I appreciate the significantly more laid back vibe here in contrast to LA chaos. (Temperature photo was taken on 4/13/24)

I didn't make this message composed of rocks, I just came across it during one of my recent walks in the La Quinta footfills. I also did not leave the poem there. I'm just documenting what I stumble upon.
