Okay this is my two cents about the reveal in the DuckTales final. (spoilers ahead)

So like, everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I respect that. My opinion seems to be an unpopular one.

I loved the plot twist, and I seem to be in the small percentage. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with Scrooge being Webby’s Dad. People keep saying that he didn’t earn it, but the show ends right after we as the viewers, Scrooge, and Webby find out so he never really gets a chance. Now I’m biased because Scrooge and Webby are my favorite characters. And this was a dream come true for Webby, and I adore that. Also Scrooge’s character develops throughout DuckTales, that’s part of the show. You can still be a Dad while also learning how to be one. We just don’t get to see that part of his growth because of the ending, which no fault to the creators because Disney canceled the show. Also, I noticed so many foreshadowing events yet there’s people that say that it was never foreshadowed. Like, are we watching the same show? Because it was pretty obvious looking back on it. Also I can’t help but get this feeling that some people just don’t like Scrooge as a character, because there just seems to be a tone of bitterness when a lot of people talk about him. So I don’t know if that’s part of it? He’s a complicated character, who has flaws, but that’s what makes him interesting. Also I guess because he’s a capitalist, and yes capitalism is wrong and a lot of us are rightfully angry at the state of the world because of capitalism, but this man is a cartoon duck that has no real impact on real life currency. I don’t know, I guess since Scrooge is my favorite character it was just a bit disappointing to see a lot of people upset about the ending, when it was something that I absolutely loved. Maybe it’s because it pulled on my heartstrings because I lost my Dad a few months before the final, so it was something that was a bit healing to see.

Looking at it from a different perspective I guess I can kind of understand where people are coming from. Scrooge can be a bit reckless, and selfish at times, but the show is about family coming together, learning, and growing closer. He already accepted Webby as family, which from what I understand is one of the reasons why people think Webby being Scrooge’s daughter is unnecessary. But I think it brings Webby peace because she figured out where she came from. Even those who are adopted, and accepted into a family might wonder about their biological origins.

Also I feel like it’s partially a Doctor Who reference. David Tennant voices Scrooge, and plays the 10th Doctor, and there was a similar scenario.

Anyway, this was a rant I’ve been holding in for the past year and needed to finally let it out.

Has anyone else seen this teaser yet? There’s a small Scrooge McDuck cameo in it and when he shows up it sounds like David Tennant’s laugh.

I’ll be pleasantly surprised if they cast him as Scrooge . Mostly because Tennant did a PHENOMENAL job in the DT 2017 reboot.

Idk man I heard that it was Scroldie week and they’re my absolute favourites, so while I was way too late to work on anything prompt-wise, I thought I’d share a little something I did in my downtime. It’s a partial redraw of that one scene in white agony plains, because I miss Goldie with my whole heart and can’t wait to see more of her this season. Scrooge is my favourite character, so I’ve gotta give him some love on my page from time to time, right?

My little brother @docozoxo requested some old school Scrooge/Goldie! This was a little while back where I opened Ducktales-related suggestions/requests, and I’m happy for all the practice it gave me.
