He’s married to a US citizen. He likely has an IR1 Visa which allowed him to apply for permanent residency immediately without a waiting period.
Interesting Blind Internet Tea about PH and MM’s Visa
This was found on the Saint Meghan Markle Forum on Reddit. As always take all blind internet tea with a grain of salt.

He feels badly that people think badly of him. He doesn’t actually feel bad about what he said, at all.
What upset me the most about Colbert speech is not the lack of an apology, it's the hypocricy he showed when he said he would never make a joke on a tragedy, as if having a cheating husband is not a tragedy, as if sending your chidren to school while rumors of their family crumbling is not a tragedy. IF the rumors about Rose were true, how could he not think that wasn't a tragedy for Kate and her children and Rose's children. Who made him a God that decide what is hurtful and what is not?
He wasn't sorry. He regrets the jokes he made but he didn't feel any sorry at all.

This might be too invasive a question and of course we shouldn’t be speculating when we aren’t doctors and when we don’t know everything about Kate’s case, but do you think the fact that it took more or less five weeks (it’s hard not to compare the timeline with the timeline of charles’ diagnosis) for the cancer to be found means it is actually very small?
I’m sorry I honestly can’t stop worrying about Kate.
I'm honestly not sure. I think even when they ARE looking for cancer and are kind of confident that's what it's going to find the pathology results can still take at least a week or two.
Her samples might not have been put on a STAT rush because they weren't expecting to find cancer, which could be why it took a bit longer and then if there was a need for a second opinion (if the sample seemed degraded or if it was kind of a "borderline" type of situation) that would add time as well.
It probably also depends on the size of what's being reviewed - I had 2 tiny moles removed from my leg that were pre-cancerous but they got 100% of the margins - those took a couple of days to come back but the spots were like... smaller than a pencil eraser so I imagine those can be analyzed a lot more quickly than a large or very dense tumor, or an organ (ie: when my gallbladder came out they sent that whole thing to pathology).

Yeah Catherine said she HAD cancer present and has been ADVISED to have chemo so it’s seems more of a precautionary thing! She also says she will be ok
Yes - seems like things were caught early & trending in the right direction 🤞🏻🤞🏻

This makes sense as to why KP clamped down when the MoD announced the Trooping attendance.
Please don’t take this the wrong way but does this mean we won’t see Catherine for a while until she finishes treatment?
Most likely, yes. Nor should we expect to see William much after the children's Easter holidays. I think he will do some engagements at the same pace as he has done since January and then disappear for the summer holidays. After that, we'll just have to wait but I'm wrapping my head around the fact that we probably won't see Catherine until next year.

Even Omid Scoobie is trying to back pedal after he set a countdown to the royal announcement yesterday.
He said he tweeted the alarm to remind followers and is now horrified and disgusted at news outlets saying it was some kind of sick countdown.
Let’s give him the benefit of the doubt and say it WASNT a sick countdown…. It was still unbelievably crass.
I sincerely doubt he was on the press list to get the embargoed noticed in advance, but he had to have known that any announcement that was coming in that way wasn’t going to be a good one.
As soon as I heard there was an announcement coming my heart sank to my feet.

It still baffles me that after everything there are still people looking to random accounts for guidance instead of looking to THE PERSON SPEAKING ABOUT THEIR OWN DIAGNOSIS.
I saw an idiot conspiracy theorist this morning suggest that the video was AI bc there was a shadow on the background.
And I’ve been FAAAAR too many people (Squadies of course) saying this is karma for Kate & she deserves it.
This whole thing is just further highlighting how shitty people are.

All of the royals have to have a bit of acting ability - or an exceptional ability to compartmentalize - to be able to go out, smile, and be happy and pleasant while privately dealing with whatever is going on behind closed doors.
When you put it that way, it makes it all the more shocking that a professional actress with over 15 years of experience at the time couldn't manage.
🤭🤭🤭

Saw this account on X they announced catherines cancer hours before she did and also tweeted she had stage 4 cancer. When i watched her video, her explanation of her surgery was a little confusing. I felt she was holding back a bit.
Also weirdly chris ship on the news last night uk time, said she had cancer not has cancer. I really confused now. What do you think?
That Twitter user has ONLY posted about Kate’s situation & only started posting yesterday. There is no credibility to this person IMO.
In Kate’s statement she said:
They initially did not believe it was cancerous
The surgery was successful
Further testing showed Cancer *had* been present
She is well and getting stronger
Her doctors recommended preventative (adjuvant) chemo
She is in the early stages of that treatment
I don’t believe she has stage 4 cancer.
It seems that she had a tumor of some kind, it was removed, they sent it for testing, and it was confirmed to be cancerous. This - to me, a non-medical professional and optimist - feels like they removed the entire tumor with clear margins and are putting her on chemo to ensure any lingers cells are squashed.
Not because they think she is in danger or that it’s already spread, but because the want to prevent that from happening.

I always thought of Kate Middleton, The Duchess of Cambridge, The Princess of Wales as sort of public personas that help Catherine separate her public self from her private self. I don’t doubt she’s being herself at public engagements but she's still at work, she’s acting professional, is aware of the cameras around, and of what has been said of her over the last 20 years. The video allows us to see a bit into her private, vulnerable self as she shares the news about her illness, but it’s still an official statement, hence Catherine, The Princess of Wales.
It can also be as trivial as the palaces changing the way the royals are addressed publicly, I've seen Sophie referred to as Sophie, The Duchess of Edinburgh instead of just The Duchess of Edinburgh. Maybe they think this way it makes them more familiar to the public, or it's easier for the wider public to differentiate between them with all the title changes in the last 18 months.
Oh I definitely think you’re spot on with the titles and media names (“Kate Middleton”) are her public persona that she’s happy to go along with so that she - Catherine - can have a private life. All of the royals have to have a bit of acting ability - or an exceptional ability to compartmentalize - to be able to go out, smile, and be happy and pleasant while privately dealing with whatever is going on behind closed doors.
And I do like your thought that by including names they’re just trying to help people who may be less “in the know” keep everyone straight - it makes sense.

I know this is quite a frivolous question in light of everything, but I’m curious whether you/anyone else knows. Do you know why they had the statement as from “Catherine, The Princess of Wales” as opposed to just from “The Princess of Wales” as usual? I’ve never seen them add her name to her title before (which I don’t think is strictly correct). My only guess is that the statement was a personal one from her as Catherine, but the news obviously is too significant to just add the informal “C”. Just something interesting I picked up on.
Hmmm good question. I’m not sure. My GUESS is that it was for the sake of being clear (since so many people just call her/know her as Kate and the POW might not even register) and also because - like you said - it was a statement FROM her and she wanted the transcript to feel a little more personal.

Is preventative chemo long?
Not sure - it likely depends on what her specific diagnosis was. A very quick Google search says it can last 3-6 months, but I don't know if preventive chemo would be a shorter course.

LOOK WHAT THEY DID TO HER - the media made a MOCKERY OF HER RECOVERY and social media took it upon themselves to PORTRAY HER AND HER HUSBAND IN THE VERY WORST LIGHT and they BACKED HER INTO A CORNER so she HAD TO TELL BILLIONS OF PEOPLE her PRIVATE BUSINESS just to SHUT THEM UP to give herself, her husband, and her three young children ONE SINGLE MOMENT OF PEACE. I hope they’re all sick. I hope they’re absolutely drowning in guilt. It’s on sight if I see one more stupid thing out of someone’s mouth. My poor girl. I am so sorry they did this to you.
