A Work Day.
35 minutes on the elliptical, plus abs. Still trying to keep from running — the right foot still feels lousy.

So, here's what happened....
After I ran/walked the marathon with mom, I realized something: I really shouldn't have done it in Chucks.
Seriously, bad decision, Dan.
So I messed up my foot. But after two weeks off, it's finally starting to feel better.
On Tuesday, I walked into Bethesda — about 5 miles round trip.
Today, I got to the gym and did 40 minutes on the elliptical, plus some abs and upper body.
Good to be back at it.

Mom Ran The Marine Corps Today.
We power-walked about 7 miles of it with her. So proud of my momma — she wanted to do the race in under 6 hours, and she finished in 5:59:52.
What a year for the Oshinsky family.

Afternoon Run.
It's 80 today, and it's October, so I had to take advantage. A 4.25 mile run outdoors — not bad at all.

At 'Em.
Up this morning for the gym. Focused on the lower body — hammies, quads, calves. Some elliptical thrown in at the end for good measure.

Oh HELL YES It's A Work Day.
Today was my best day in a long while.
2 miles on the treadmill at an 8:30 pace. Bench. Biceps. More bench. Abs. (Hello, starfish crunches!) Even some lower back machine.
Done. Done. DONE.

3.05 mile run back from Bethesda to the house along the Crescent Trail. There might not be too many days as nice as this one for a long while.

Finally back at it.
So: About 10 days ago, I went for a run. Two miles into the run, I tripped over a combination of my shoelaces and a crack in the sidewalk.
I fell.
Hard.
Bloodied up both of my hands. And my knee.
Combine that with a conference on Tuesday and Wednesday, and then a trip to NYC, and then a couple of laziness... and suddenly, it's 10 days without working out.
But I'm coming back. I did 30 minutes on the treadmill today. That was good.
And tomorrow, I'm going to cash in this 30-day trial membership at the local gym. Gotta get back at it — hard.
Let's do the work, Dan.

Run.
25 minute run — 2.75 miles worth. And some light abs between commercial breaks of the MIzzou game.
Gotta do more to work on the core — soon. Like, tomorrow.
