She鈥檚 a battle-scarred, jaded super-soldier loaded with biomechanical upgrades and chemical augments. All she wants to do is wear cute clothes and paint.
This has probably already been pointed out a million times and I don鈥檛 pretend to have a way with words but I鈥檒l try:
One thing I love about good omens is the visual storytelling, and the way in which Aziraphale and Crowley approach interior decor provides an insight into the journey they take as characters.
Take Aziraphale鈥檚 bookshop, it couldn鈥檛 contrast more with the stark and soulless minimalism of Heaven, he loves clutter and mess and you can tell this space is a reflection of who he is as a person. The set design here shows that rebellion against heaven doesn鈥檛 just lie in doing evil and consorting with the enemy but also in appreciating and surrounding himself with the things that bring him joy.
Then there鈥檚 Crowley鈥檚 flat, this time a brutalist and spacious middle finger to the dark and dank corridors of hell. His appreciation of art and plants and light is reflected in this space and once again goes to show that rebellion really can be as simple as distancing himself from the looks and ideals of the place he has come from.
TL;DR the good omens set designers kick ass and I can鈥檛 wait to see more from them in series two
I painted these color keys for this scene in Across the Spiderverse between Gwen and her dad!
The idea for the initial color palette was that because Gwen's world is colored by her emotions, she's cool blue despite the warm light of her surroundings - to symbolize her internal isolation from the rest of the world and her father.
Upon entering Gwen's room, we see an inverse of the color relationship that was set up previously. Gwen and her environment are in harmony, contrasting against her dad's warm colors. When they embrace, their colors mix together to create something new.
The impact Spiderverse has on art and artists is INSANE. Everyone is drawing, everyone is CREATING. From colour studies, to the art style studies, to making sona influenced by the movies' character designs. AI generated images are nowhere to be seen, and I hope they're going to stay buried in the uncreative pits they belong in... the world is in balance.
