Do you know about my free web based sketch app that rotates random pose references? 🤔

It's called AdorkaStock Sketch and you can access it on desktop or mobile. It will adjust to fit your screen! On mobile you can scroll down to see the options.

There are currently just over 2,000 poses in rotation with more coming. You can change the timer, skip poses, sort with filters, or try predefined class modes.

The site is completely free and thanks to my Patrons I was recently able to remove third-party ads! If you turn off your ad blockers while using the site you will only see my own ads.

You can also make a free account which will allow you to collect a favorites list and set sketching goals.

haven't drawn anything in 3 months now but I'm hoping that I can pick up my scenic drawings again. Here's an old progress gif from my Snowsquall piece: here if you haven't seen it

A lot of people commented about the lighting and colors on the original post so I wanted to take a moment to plug this tiny youtube channel I've been using improve my illustrations: Light Ponderings. Specific video recommendations below the cut but honestly I recommend looking at all his stuff.

His style of video making is part "here's some fun informative facts about light" and then part "let me draw this in real time while I narrate to really explain what the technical part meant" which I find so helpful.

A couple videos I recommend and used in this piece:

^ Light is not about a lighter or darker scale. Shadows and highlights change both the hue and the saturation of the color they affect, they don't just get darker.

^ This one literally blew my mind. I've almost stopped color picking now because I'm getting really good at picking out my own colors to make a cohesive image that doesn't feel like it's got too many different colors going on.

^ This one was incredible for my work because at some point in the past decade I stopped using references because it's "copying" (it's not). Great strategies on how to properly observe and use images you are inspired by.

Hopefully this helps anyone else out there who enjoys lighting as much as I do!

Share a weird fact/story about yourself with the class. I like to drive around rural areas and photograph old, sometimes abandoned locations in the dead of night. I have been literally chased out of towns by foot and by car on two separate occasions. The second time this happened, "See You Again" by Miley Cyrus came up on shuffle and that's the soundtrack my friend and I tore out of town to. Also every "guy" I've dated except for my most recent ex (who has big egg energy) is a lesbian now.

What does the color blue taste like? Creme brulee

What is the most beautiful thing you've ever seen? The appalachian mountains of Tennessee in the middle of summer. There's kudzu everywhere. On the backroads, there were several old, dilapidated Baptist churches barely hanging to the side of the mountain. I wonder how many of them were still in use.

What is the stupidest thing you've ever done? Short version: my friend's house almost got broken into by this dude who'd been stalking us for months while we were home alone. Instead of calling the cops, we decided to confront him with a bow and arrow (me), a hatchet, and a baseball bat (him). The plan was that if it went badly, we would simply throw his corpse into one of the many lakes in the neighborhood and let the alligators eat his remains (this was Florida). Why? Because we were afraid of having our home-alone privileges revoked. Luckily for us all, the guy fucked off and we never saw him again.

Stupidest thing you've seen/heard someone else do/say? My ex thought that Jackalopes were real. Also, a nurse I was doing rotations with apparently thought that "Witness Protection" was for Jehovah's Witnesses.

Is there any meaning behind your profile picture and/or username? Profile pic; I'm transmasc and I'm currently obsessed with TriStamp. Username; It was my fake internet name when I was like 13. I won't change it because I want my mutuals to recognize me, and because I do have a viral post associated with this name.

Dream career as a child? Doctor (funnily enough I'm now in nursing school)
