The reason you, gen Z queers, need to be kink positive isn't because you support those kinks. It is okay to be disgusted by them, actually.

The reason you need to support kinksters is because "these kinks are disgusting" is the framework the alt-right is using and will continue to use to outlaw you. They don't think you're any different from the guys at Pride in leather puppy suits. They think your ENTIRE EXISTENCE is sexual. They think you holding hands with someone of the same gender, or existing as a trans person at all, is the same as a straight couple playing tonsil hockey in public.

YOU ARE A FETISH TO THEM. That is all you will ever be to the alt-right. They will never see you as human. When they talk about "our children being exposed to sexual perversion" they don't mean BDSM like you think they do. They mean YOU.

The only way to preserve your own existence is to fight for the right of kink to exist, because the instant kink becomes taboo or outlawed again*, rest assured, the alt-right will become MUCH more transparent about just what they think about your existence.

When you harp on about disgusting kinks and how they need to be hidden or outlawed and how they're harmful and everyone who does them is (insert thing here), you are giving the alt-right the tools they will use to imprison you as soon as they have unchecked power to do so.

THAT is why kinksters have been part of the queer community, part of Pride, from the start. Because the only way to keep our community safe is by truly ensuring everyone has unlimited sexual autonomy so long as the activity is taking place between consenting adults. It's just like how abortion-related laws are the lynchpin for all manner of medical autonomy laws.

The queer community can't stand without kinksters and vice versa. Even if you yourself aren't a kinkster and find them disgusting, like it or not, that is just how it is.

*Sodomy was illegal in Texas until 2003 and the law is still on the books, just not allowed to be enforced thanks to Lawrence v Texas, which SCOTUS has said they have an interest in striking down

What sort of manners do we need to watch for because humans have a diverse manners across cultures. I assume that you mean not to be rude or crass and to be kind and all that stuff but is there other things we need to know?

Nah yeah that's most of it. Like you said, it's counter-productive to act as though there are hard and fast rules wrt specific "manners". No single action is appropriate in all contexts.

If there is one piece of general advice i could give to my audience, it's this: be careful.

And by that i do mean be full of care, and mind boundaries- your own and others'. I see many people on this site get overly-familiar with strangers, this is not being careful. I see many people assume cruel intent where there is none, this is not being full of care.

if a sword is fighting its crucible-twin, the tragedy echoes back. why are these fighters, who hail from the same town, who know the same blacksmith, fighting? is it civil war? is it a power struggle within a family? has one of the swords been turned against its sibling by a thief, the original wielder dead in some ditch?

the iron in both blades once laid together under the same mountain, was brought up by the same hands, was shaped in the same forge- what forces could bring it to clash against itself?

if a sword is like an extension of the wielder. and a sword can be said to have its own identity. then can a sword not feel grief and sorrow at being forced to clash with its opponent forged in the same crucible but forced to turn against it. can a sword not cry out in the screech of metal on metal from the pain of betrayal.

having eaten your twin in the womb is such. a weird experience. whether or not one has health issues caused by it

there are actually a large number of people who have eaten their twins and will never know. depending on the pregnant parent's health/food availability/life circumstances, there's like a 10-20% (citation needed it's been a while since i read the literature on this) chance that any given pregnancy developed multiple zygotes BUT usually multiples are reabsorbed by the parent, or are genetically identical to another zygote which can then absorb it without any lasting effects (barring (usually benign) teratomas)

anyway it's just really interesting. i dont want to talk to christians but people who believe in zygotic souls must be driven bonkers by this shit
