I just finished Act 1 of spy another day and here’s my thoughts (spoilers for digital ticket) —

I'm rewatching Spy Another Day Torture Tango and the fact Joe is pulling on Curt's ear makes me wish he was tickling it... the feather thing is really never called back to which I guess makes sense because it would give Owen away but at the same time maybe Curt would just be too lost in the fact he was being to question it.

Anyways yeah Joe should've tickled Curt behind the ear because uh that's real torture

“I can’t wait…to get home…to my boys…” why is that actually so sad. He’s lived with so much survivor’s guilt, he welcomes death. He feels as though he cheated death and he’s just been waiting for this day. God. Henry Hidgens has so much angst potential. I expect many more fics about him and the boys now.

I'm loving the attention to the new One Step Ahead because it absolutely deserves it, but also can we please take a moment to appreciate Spies Are Forever (Evil Reprise) because that actually broke me

Sorry for my shitty screenshots it was difficult to transfer them from my laptop over to my phone to post this but Owen mocking Curt while being in a very close and intimate position for the two of them? Curt's look of heartbroken determination trying desperately to reconcile the man he loved against the man currently infront of him? Realizing what has to be done?

And then this look of anguish realizing this is it, there's no going back. No look of familiarity or love at all from Owen, that's gone and lost, there's no recovering it.

I just. Oughhhhhhhhh the gay spies.

Also bonus transition screenshot I have no real analysis for I just thought it was really interesting visually. They both look sad for different reasons, it's all SAD they were trying to warn us with the title (/j)

the genocide in gaza has been going on for 6 months and there is rarely a day i don't think about it or post anything on any of my social media accounts.

i can't not post about gaza and bring awareness.

and i can't believe that none of my friends have shared anything, and i'm upset with how little my siblings and mother have.

i've known about isntreal's violent treatment towards palestinians for years. and even back then i was shocked people didn't give a shit or know about it, which wasn't their fault. western media is bullshit propaganda that purposely does not educate... so i was like "ok i can see how you wouldnt know about this."

but now day after day, we are witnessing this ethnic cleansing, while palestininas are living it and for people to say they "don't know much" about it, or they aren't educated enough or blah blah.

you have 0 excuses. people are protesting all over the world, palestinians are sharing what is going on all over social media. students are setting up encampments, people have blocked ships, disrupted political events, set themselves on fire..

you had 0 excuses at the beginning of this and you have even less excuses now at month 6

i am so sick of people being willfully ignorant and playing dumb, just admit you didn't care at the start of this, and you don't care now. your apathy is disgusting. your indifference is vile.

it is so incredibly sad to constantly see kids on instagram and tiktok who are younger than my brother have to literally beg for shelter, food, water, medicine, and their right to exist as human beings

i mean, this young girl is only ten years old, yet she is essentially responsible for convincing random people scrolling through instagram that her and her family’s life are worth fighting for

on top of that, their gofundme is not even 10% funded and time is running out, please if you can’t donate, just share

I loved Spy Again. That was spectacular. A lot of depth to that performance that just made the theatre kid in me giddy. I really appreciate Curt Mega for some of the acting choices he made during the show, particularly during the first flashback and at the end of One Step Ahead. Those were such good character moments played so authentically that it made me tear up a little bit

The one that really killed me was this moment during the first flashback. This was beautiful. I can't even explain how much this moment meant to me.

I wish I could say I liked this version of One Step Ahead as much as everyone else seems to, but I get it. It's a RHPS-style thing, so they played up the comedy aspect. That being said, once again I just have to stop and appreciate Curt Mega for bringing in these moments of intimacy and vulnerability. It was stunning:

Anyways, if you haven't gotten the digital ticket you should! It's a fun show with a lot of neat moments
