This scene demonstrates why I love how Vault-Tec is written as an evil corporation. It's not the usual mustache-twirling, over-the-top villainy you see in other media. It's quiet, subtle, and very realistic, which only serves to make Vault-Tec that much more terrifying.
When Cooper finishes describing how Vault-Tec was responsible for the deaths of countless people, the executive here does two things: a) he makes their deaths about himself (ALL WHILE NOT EVEN ACKNOWLEDGING THEM!), and b) he makes it about "Product Management."
It really emphasizes the theme that corporations like Vault-Tec and the suits who run them at Vault-Tec only care about the company and its products and NOT the people who use them (or are being used by them).

I am obSESSed with maximus. because he's like a good guy and a bad guy all at once?
he's a victim he's a murderer he believes people in power should hold themselves accountable he's out for himself, but he's selfless, he's a cynic he's a believer he knows how to deal with cannibals he can survive the wasteland, he fundamentally doesn't seem to understand what sex is

I put together these podcast recommendations based on books a while ago, enjoy (they also work the other way around, I highly recommend these books, I made it my life's mission to make people read radio silence, it's SUCH a great book and it got me into Welcome to Night Vale and podcasts in general. Thank you Alice Oseman)
i'm never good at summarizing things but I tried my best lol

characters who begin again in completely new worlds… or characters with memory loss being given another shot at life… and then using that desperately trying to make amends for the person they are told they used to be,, or who reinvent themselves into a new person to the betterment or detriment of themselves.. but the shadow of the old self always lingers >>>>>>>
